I am the one that answered you on the other forum. For the folks here, I looked in the 1955 manual as I thought it would have a ratchet type parking brake lever. The manual shows the lever style with the adjustment cap. Again, this is the manual from 1955 not the newer manuals.
I hate to get real simple on this but is the crank unlocked? If it is locked then it will spin free. The lock allows it to engage with the mechanism to raise or lower.
Now is the time to pull out the manual if you need to trace the line. The -20 has a diagram of the routing of the lines in the brake trouble shooting part of section 2.
Again, there is supposed to be a valve on the end of the line before the glad hand. You said the end is broken off but is the...
I don't know half tracks but I would doubt the transfer case would be the mechanism to compensate for the different diameters of the drive sprocket and front tire. I think it much more likely that the both outputs of the transfer case both move at the same speed when the case is locked into all...
Did you turn the valve on the passenger side, or is there a valve? If there is no valve and no air then it is disconnected. The passenger's side should be red and should supply air when ever the cut off valve is open. The driver's side should be yellow or the newer excepted color of blue. When...
Do the whole line and I would further say replace all the lines. Not to hard. I usually take out the old line then measure it with a string to get the overall length. I then bend it to match the old line. On long runs you usually need to get a union and add two. Auto parts stores have pre cut...
I brought up the same thing in another post. I dumbed it down a bit to the following:
Do not use PM on SS or other forums for secure communications.
The other veterans and active duty on the site should know all about comsec.
It used to be done only with a large amount of the same stuff being auctioned. Now it seems to be happening more and more. If there are only 10 trailers to be auctioned it would not take that much more time to take the correct pictures and post them. I really would like to know the official...
I have noticed some that some items look pretty similar on some of the auctions. Right down to the bumper number and rust spots. Crazy stuff. Like a grab bag. You never know what you will get. This was from the Michigan auctions.
They did not come with a drain on the bottom of the tank. That does not mean someone did not add one. They do have a pipe goes to the bottom of the tank and exits to the side above the frame rail. I can't remember if it was driver's side or passenger's side. It should be capped. You can take the...
Dealing with the law the term is reasonable expectation of privacy. I do not and will never expect any privacy on a website and the PM feature. This is data on a server open to the public. I even do not trust my yahoo account past a certain point. If I was going to divulge the location of where...
Were you freeway cruising when it let go. I would vote for over rev. They are notorious for making block windows when run even a small amount over red line. The governor helps but if you were going down a hill it would still take the engine past the limits of the governor. I have to catch myself...
