In october i started disassemby to remove the power pack so to get at and replace the fluid coupling seal...after about 40 some years it was a bit tired and leaking bad....lots of cleaning and painting....in the last few weeks I've been cranking it up and checking for leaks...all looks...

About 1989 i found a canadian ferret....54-82589....after some research i found out canada bought 124 ferrets....all 1954s....years later i found out that c.a.r.number589 went to Egypt in the 1950s...and later to Cyprus Greece in the 1960s all part of un peace keeping missions....very few...
The second part you have looks like a guard for a front mounted implement...but the small red handle throws me off...im not sure...there were many attatchments...keep looking youll find it...im sure.
Oh yes...the part that is next to a tire in the photo is the rack to hold the rolled up bed tarp....it mounts on front of the bed....easy!!!!...the other part??? never seen before.
My 404 .1 must have different shifters....the hand brake is nowhere close to the 4x4 shifter...great you got to drive around im sure thats a good feeling...best of luck..
Thanks....ive been starting it up and have not found any leaks so far...about being street legal....you have to check with your state.....i have a title for mine but more and more states want privately ownened military vehicles off the road...ohio i think will not issue anymore titles for them...
