This is true, but they also drop the air bags for hooking/unhooking trailers. This seems like there might be 'some' out there that have decent travel shocks.
But, to be honest, you would probably end up putting the shocks on the inside (towards the pivot point) and tilt them inward as well.
The rear axles have a LOT of up/down travel.
I would look at shocks made for trucks with the big air bags that have a lot of drop when you dump the bags.
I KNOW they would help, especially with with a m818 running bob tail.
When/IF it ever dries out at my place, I figure I would have a simple mini-rally at my place. Probably be late spring time though. I haven't had to time or money to put down enough gravel yet.
Btw, I have some deep water holes Josh. Bet you could make some mud!
Post up when you do!
I have way too many other things that are higher on my priority list right now. But I still feel that I would benefit from one of these.
Wow, guess we know why so many have problems with these.
Is there some kind of external vent that allows moisture to enter the manifold when it's not running?
If not, these things need an air drier and a serious filter!
Wow, I bet it would be cheaper to have those orings custom made for you!
Obviously the gaskets seem like something that could only be supplied through CAT.
Great pictures so far. Keep up the good work.
Hard to complain when you get that kind of encouragement!
Btw, I saw you driving south through Centralia today, then when you were parked at the Carl's Jr on your way north.
Wish I could have made it, but I just got home from work, so far.
You want better mpg, build boost sooner (I am not saying you have to build a lot, just sooner.)
This will one of the few things that will make more torque under the power curve by helping to atomize the fuel that has pooled in the piston cup.
Only 3% IIRC is combusted from direct atomization of...
I had state farm before in CA.
This time, I am thinking about keeping it with a nice Comp plan, and no continual liability insurance. And just get that for the limited times I drive it.
Honestly, I mainly drive it for parades, showing it off to people, etc.
BUT, I like to cover my butt when I am...
I love mine black. It just has the right look.
On a couple deuces I had before, one had OD green rims, and another all flat black. The black rims 'just look right' to me.
Pinning the surge brakes is the easiest way to stop it, and probably the best solution in the long run (unless you are really going to use the trailer ALL the time.)
Yeah, a M1009 or M1008 would do great to tow that little trailer. I know I have towed a number of them behind my M1009.
They look goofy behind a deuce. Done that as well.
