Oh yeah, finally the 'official' thread has begun!
I should be in the m818 again this year. Couldn't cut the mustard to get a M920 yet...
Danielle will also be present and accounted for, not sure on her vehicle choice as of yet.
OK, as for convoy routes.
Here is a link to the first 'rough draft'...
Well, for those of us that are paying $4.xx a gallon of diesel, those miles can add up.
Besides, the longer the convoy, the less time to sit around the fire BS
ing...
Napavine will be having it's parade. We got word on that a few days ago.
I am working on the new convoy route. Trying to make it interesting without being TOO long of a route.
Usually the cost of rebuild is far greater then a replacement.
And yeah, civy ones are backwards.
Hmm, I need to get my mutt gas tank cleaned, and a one man shop like that usually is a great place to go. Thanks!
Well, the radiator in my m1009 finally let go. And I mean LET GO...
Now in the hunt for a new one. But thought someone local might have an extra one around before I go buy one?
Fastest way to test a cylinder, get a spray bottle with water in it. Spray each exhaust runner, then start the engine. Fast way to see how the water evaps. Number 1 and 6 take a little longer to evap the water.
I would not rest until you have replace ALL rubber fuel lines. A little air leak can...
I replaced everything from the tank to the IP, it is now all -12 AN.
It was easy enough to get all the fittings that went right on the stock stuff. But I got rid of all stock rubber, copper, filters, etc.
I am also only running the left side tank. I have a electric pump I am going to put on to...
ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins
That is probably one of the best protective films. Same stuff used to protect helicopter blades, used by the military.
Not sure if the 3M stuff is the same.
Hmm, I thought the headlights on my 818 did a very good job. Except they keep burning out from the vibrations.
I know how that trip feels. I have done it MANY times now!
Just think, I had a 730 mile recovery for my 818, then two weeks later made the trip up here for the first convoy!
I have to...
Spin on filters for the 5 tons is THE way to go. No more chasing stupid air leaks, and it is a quick and easy swap for filters in the future. And ones you can pickup while out on the road.
I like that dual filter setup! I only used a single spin on filter, but it is doing great so far.
While I have used those cheapo units, they do NOTHING for moisture.
Seems that the oil on the K&N ones helps out for the moisture (not sure HOW much, but some at least.) But should do a GOOD job of keeping the water out when washing the truck, going through water crossings, etc.
Those little...
The dual hammer 1" impact at harbor freight is THE ticket!
Their impact sockets made by Pittsburg are cheap and I still haven't broken one (and that is saying something there....)
To run the 1" gun, I like to run off higher PSI, and use the largest hose you can feed that sucker with!
Still, I...
