This is the DC breaker you're talking about I assume?
My suggestion is to 1 by 1 remove DC powered items until you find the issue.
When first attempting to start, I assume you are able to fill the day tank with the electric fuel pump with no issue? if so, that probably eliminates the fuel pump...
Ok, thanks for the consolidated history.
Regarding the shut-down event, it sounds more like coincidence than anything. There is Zero possibility that you opening the door to check the temp could have caused the temperature to rise enough to cause additional oil pressure loss.
Since the pressure...
Yes! last couple years I have gotten ethanol free gas in upstate NY and VA, got about 25Gl each time, added stabilizer as soon as I got it home and worked great for yard equipment etc. No issue at all storing it for over a year.
Have seen it in 91 octane and 87 depending on location.
Lets recap to make sure we're all on the same page.
If I'm reading correctly you changed out your 7 year oil with fresh 15-40 and some STP treatment?
This raised oil pressure slightly, up to about 25 psi. when hot.
You sent off a sample of the y year old oil and it came back low viscosity...
One thing to check on the 802 / 803 is to take off the top cover and look carefully at the 12 leads coming off the generator going up to the terminal strip and to the AC select switch as well as the 3 fatter wires going from the AC select switch into the circuit interruptor.
Make sure none of...
That's exactly correct.
If you have trouble removing the injectors another way to open the valves is to remove the rocker arm nut on 1 valve per cyl. and put a few washers or a larger nut over the stud to act as a spacer then put the original nut back on and tighten it down until the valve is...
99% of the time it's a bad sender.
In your case the fuel sender is bad. This is very common on these machines.
The resistance should be 30 ohms full and 240 ohms. empty.
3000 ohms is why your gage is pegged.
Best bet is to replace it with a 5.5" long WEMA stainless steel marine sender with a SAE...
Back to the glow plug thing.... an 802 doesn't have glow plugs. It only has pre-heaters in the intake manifold.
Either remove the injector or take off the valve covers and hold a valve open ( this can be done you prying down on the valve tip ) while you turn the motor over by hand an see if any...
You should be able to turn the engine over fully with a ratchet and you will hear compression leaking into the crankcase while doing so.
Compression leaks past the rings while cranking slowly, mainly due to the speed it is turning and the lack of high cylinder pressure which helps seal the...
Note the word LOAD test, not Voltage test. Too many folks overlook that fact that a bad battery can quite often show a surface charge of around 12.4V, making if appear to be fully charged, but throw a load at it and there's absolutely nothing there to back it up!
If ever in doubt, get yourself...
Ugh, that means the line is frozen to the nut. Some heat and penetrating oil should help free it up.
Try rocking the nut back and forth rather than continuing to unscrew it.
If you wreck it I probably have a spare in my parts stash that I can part with.
No, what Kurt means is that you want to switch the 24V power going into the converter, not the 12V power coming out, otherwise the converter is constantly sucking up power even when the lights are off.
Depending on what size converter you get that would mean either a switch or a relay feeding...
It's like restoring an antique car. Spend $X to restore it to like new, so that it will then be worth $X-25% if you're lucky.
Probably like everything else, you'll spend more than its worth on the restoration. But it's the cool factor and the satisfaction that makes it worth the effort!
Did you ever check for fuel coming out of each metering pump?
Post #5 you said you were going to check, but never posted the outcome, this is a very important piece of the puzzle.
I doubt your governor is non-functional. Without the governor you wouldn't make it to 40% load without seriously...
I recognize that exhaust pipe, I have the same pipe in my parts stash, think it's from a laundry trailer perhaps??
One or 2 words of caution: I use mine often to test machines in my shop, The pipe gets pretty hot even fairly far away from the machine after load testing for a while. Also, they...
If you end up finding that you have 1 or more bad injectors I can rebuild and pop test them for you.
First get everything cleaned out as best you can, including the fuel pumps and screens.
Then fix the glow plug connectors and verify they are all working. ( hold switch for 30 seconds and the...
Another important piece of info, does everything else on the control panel work except for the ability to start the engine?
Fuel pumps run with switch in the Prime / Run position, gages and meters work etc?
Is this machine new to you, or did you one have it working correctly and all of a sudden...
Humm.... have you been able to get a good close-up look down in the hole to see if you can see any pitting, crap or a crack?
A crack is unlikely, I'd be betting more on something preventing the washer from sitting flat.
Either a ridge, gouge or a piece of crap stuck down in there.
