    MEP-803 compression bypass by injectors

Yes, had that same issue a few times. Assuming you had everything clean and did not have an extra washer stuck down in the hole... My advise is to take it apart again, make sure the hole, the washer and the injector are all clean. Reassemble and tighten the bolt. Take a hammer and something...

Acquired Another MEP-802A - A Couple of Questions

I have to wonder if this is true across the board, or do things differ across the US? Here in New England there is a difference between #1 and #2 Diesel, The viscosity. #1 is blended with Kerosene to lower it's viscosity for winter use, which also gives it a higher Cetane rating. For the tax...

    The river has gone dry

Well, maybe some states but not all. I used to do a lot of antique auto restoration and RI wants to tax us on "full restored value" when you try to register that junk yard find you just purchased! Imagine buying a chassis and a pile of parts ( mostly in milk crates ) for $3500 then being told...

    The river has gone dry

Most of the good machines dried up years ago, then prices went through the roof on the remaining junk around here, so I all but gave up buying them. By around here I still mean a good 19+ Hr. round trip depending on traffic. But honestly I'm really surprised how long the 80X series has been at...

    MEP-002A Not producing power

Probably should ohm out CVT-1 per the TM to see if you have an issue there.

    MEP-002A Not producing power

Open up the AC reconnect box and look for mouse nest / damage. That's the most common place for them to build a nest and cause damage!

    Another No Voltage thread, MEP-003A

Best thing to do is get in there and measure the CT and CVT-1 windings according to the TM. If you find a problem, then you know what parts need replacing. If CVT1 is bad I can sell you one of my spares. But beware, make sure that's your problem because swapping out the CT/CVT assembly is a bit...

    MEP 803 smoking under load.

I'm not 100% sure you have that spring on there correctly. I believe the straight side of the spring is supposed to push against the side of the block and should rotate the lever clockwise when the solenoid is out of the way. The TM does not give very good instructions on how to install the...

    MEP 803 smoking under load.

Oh boy... that's not the easiest repair to make. The timing cover has to come off to take the fuel lever off and replace the o-ring. The lever is 2 pieces that you have to separate in order to pull it out. You have to remove bolt #18

    MEP 803 smoking under load.

Some smoke at 105% load is not uncommon. I'm actually surprised that only one cyl is smoking. My first thought is either metering pump timing or metering pump flow adjustment slight off on that cyl. You could check cyl. temps on a 4 cylinders and see if the smoker is hotter than the rest and...

    Stuck Injector? Mep 803a

Given the recent issues I've seen with low sulfur fuel and IP pump problems on 002's and 003's I've switched from the diesel additives found at the local parts stores ( Howes, Diesel 911, Power Service ) to Optilube XPD exclusively. I also add in a bit of ATF as well. Specifically for the...

    MEP 803 stencils

Not sure what you mean by cut them out? The stencils are not intended to be printed and hand cut as they are not the correct font. The intention is to use the wording and spacing / alignment shown and purchase stencils from the company indicated using the size and military font listed in blue...

    2013 Drash Deere 3029T Genset

Looking at the starter I have a feeling someone threw in a starter with the incorrect number of teeth.

How do you move your generator(s)?

I'll have to get you some pictures. He was I think 11 when my older brother gave him a broken down 425 for parts. He rebuilt it, threw in one of my LPW2 engines and fabricated the entire front fork mount / hydraulic piston assembly as well as the rear 3 pt. fork setup. Also a 4 way custom built...

How do you move your generator(s)?

Case 580D 4x4 with bucket forks, or Lull 644 when plucking off or plopping onto trucks and trailers. My Son's JD 425 also has custom built fork attachments both front and rear and can pick up an 803 or 003 with either end. I've delivered several using a cheap 4x8 harbor freight tilt trailer...

    Best carc stripper

Maybe try wet blasting to keep dust to a minimal. I've heard a lot of good things about that "Dustless Blasting" co., if anything is available in your area. I hear you can rent the equipment and blast it yourself. As for chemicals, only thing I have found is that taking the coarsest sanding...

Fuel pump! if you ask me....

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I 2nd that notion! Something doesn't sound right to me. I'd first verify your gages are reading accurately when under heavy load. There's no reason your other items should be running "slow" if the generator is operating normally. Something else must be going on.

Yanmar L48AE Injector seal MEP 531/831

By chance is the seal still in the hole? I don't remember off hand but pretty sure there is supposed to be a seal in there. I don't think it is a flat copper washer like the 802/803 either.

    MEP004A injection problem Rosa Master

This is what I was referring to. Picture doesn't look exact, but it's the only thing I can think of off hand that is close.
