Official 2015 Ga. Rally buy/sell/trade thread

I'm looking for the plate to connect an M66 gunning to the left rear leg. Anyone have one coming to the rally? I'm also looking for a set of nice fiberglass deuce side racks/troop seats.

    Yey or Ney...

Chrome on an MV is wrong. But if you paint to match it might be a nice touch to personalize your ride.

    How to transport sand sheets

Your English is better than my German. [thumbzup] My vote is to get a a roof rack and put them on the sides of the rack.

    How to transport sand sheets

From the context my guess is he means sand ladders, traction mats, marston mats, etc.

I'll take that last 3 color deuce top if it's still available.

    my new technical truck

"Technical"? Looks like a HMMWV to me. Your HMMWV outclasses any "technical" I've seen. You're doing your former US military HMMWV a disservice by lumping it in with "technicals".

    Old Military vehicle locomotion trials

73m819 nailed it. Cook Brothers 8-ton chain-drive T20 was evaluated in the mid 40's. There were tractor and cargo truck variants. Looks like the Corbitt T20E1 and T20E4 also had platform (wagon) front steering. The Corbitt 8x8 shared nothing in common with the Cook Bros trucks. During the same...

    Old Military vehicle locomotion trials

That's a great update! I'm glad to hear about that place across from the pipeline viewing stop. I always assumed the owner is an enterprising sort of fellow. He also made an enormous ice tower during the winter a few years back. It was quite a sight. Seems like I recall the paper said it was...

What Is The Consensus On Deuce Bed Covers? Vinyl or Canvas? And Where Can I Buy One?!

In my opinion the vinyl requires far less maintenance than canvas. However, as stated above both require maintenance if you want them to last.

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

I'd hate to see this thread closed due to some minor disagreements or short-lived differences. I hope everyone can recognize what Zout and PB have done to preserve a rare piece of our history. Perhaps early on the K18 wasn't recognizable, but she sure is today. I've been a Signal Soldier for all...

    Brutus Coast to Coast

That seems like a negative question, where did that come from? It appears to me that TB58 is dedicated to completing this journey. He's had a few setbacks, but with the overwhelming support of the MV community and his perseverance, I have no doubt his trip will only end in success.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Great mod. Did you fab those boxes, or are they something you purchased? I like the rails with tiedown points on top of the boxes.

    Jeep questions

Too much in my opinion, but it ultimately depends on what you're willing to pay. Maybe he priced it at 7k to leave some room for negotiation. See if he'll take an offer. Unfortunately I find people don't understand negotiation much anymore, and they're firm on prices far too often. Some folks...

    Jeep questions

I don't know where these fellas are finding Jeeps that look like that for $1000. I'll take two at that price. Parts Jeep or not, if it's solid, rust free, and that close to running/driving/stopping, I'd guess the price to be closer to $3.5k - 4k. Thats also assuming the CJ to MB conversion isn't...

    Radio Equipment in M925

I'd wager we already have the technology, however it is not based on any of the aforementioned systems, nor should it be. I have used and managed most of the systems we mentioned above and my opinion is they are not reliable enough to use as a sole source for targeting. Perhaps if we could...

    Radio Equipment in M925

Calm down folks. There is nothing Skynet-ish about EPLRS/FBCB2, BFT/FBCB2, MTS, Tacticomp, Landwarrior, or any of the MBITR, PRC-152, PRC-154, etc based mission command systems. All of these systems only provide transport and/or software interface for situational awareness which ultimately aids...

Why did the army pick GM? With picture

Chevy wasn't JUST the lowest bidder. They met the requirement at the lowest price.

    Brutus Coast to Coast

I'm in Augusta, GA near FT Gordon in case you're passing by and need help, or just a cold drink. I'm also just a few minutes from SECO. I've never driven my Deuce between duty stations during a PCS, you inspire me! Keep her between the lines, good luck, and Godspeed.

    HF Jack Stands

My rule to live by is that I don't use HF merchandise that has the potential to kill me. I love HF, but not enough to trust them with my life.

    Abandoned deuce in southeast PA...?

If I was the property owner and had a random derelict vehicle sitting on my property I'd think 48 hours was too much time.
