Sorry, I did not catch that. If you can get both shifters into the detents smoothly, then it is something in between. Either the cascade box is fragged, or the high/low shift is in an intermediate positions that doesn't exist. Were you doing anything when the problem appeared, or did it just...
I talked to some customers that have bought cab tilt brackets without needing them. They have not used them. People buying them after they needed them have had to use them. It appears that the cab tilt brackets are repellent to tilting the cab!!! Get them so you never need them!
As someone parting one out, I can say it is only SEMI-lucrative. I sold my good transmission to a fellow in Ohio on here and he would be the one to chime in on inner workings. I sold my bad transmission to a fellow in NH who may be willing to part it out. I can try to get you in touch with...
To be honest, you may have been better off going with a 406 set. It just requires removing 2 additional bolts and a bracket, then the 406 mounts mount on existing holes in the frame.*
* I have verified that the holes exist, but haven’t bolted them up yet. I am going to be making the 406 tilt...
Yep, with a primed system and no fuel leaks, mine will start very quickly with no starting fluid down into the 20's. Also, placing the pedal on the floor will hinder starting(I assume you were doing that trying to get it primed.)
Yeah, I have been dumb and I have been lucky in FLU acquisitions. The first I paid $8k for and it had a cracked transmission. I ended up parting it out and still have a lot of parts left. The second was running and driving and I bought it off eBay for $7K because I recognized that it was cheaper...
sorry I didn’t reply sooner. A good hydraulics shop can likely make you a new rod for less than that. The seals are CASE parts and I can get you the PN or you can call a dealer and ask for parts for an M35C backhoe. It is in their parts manual as an “Attachment” or you can provide the seal PN...
Having never had one that far apart, I don’t know the answer to your question. But seems like it could be determined by seeing what components move vs which stay stationary.
Prices don’t make sense anymore. 2 FLU’s in the classifieds for $12 & $13k. Yet one sold at auction last week with a SIEZED engine for $11K after fees.
I see now that Couch Offroad offers a repair kit for this.

I had disassembled mine and rewelded the missing metal on the pawl, then purchased a new rivet for ~$2. But at least there is an option with new...
While I understand that is correct on the 406’s with steering wheel mounted valves, the FLU419 does indeed have a pressure relief in the valve stack behind the cab that runs the loader.
In the main FLU owners thread, Jay Couch made a post that he had turned the pressure relief on the loader circuit up. I believe it was operating around 2400 and he turned it up to ~3000. Note, the military had the lower pressure to prevent damage to the machine. This Unimog is made for moving...
That marks the beginning of the end for your seal. You will need to replace the rod at some point. If the flaked chrome is sharp, you can dress it with a grinder so it doesn’t cut the seal more. But the exposed steel will rust. So at some point you will be driven to action when it leaks more...
A number of them have been sold out of Texas where they sat for a number of years. I suspect they were shipped in to be rebuilt and someone changed their mind. Similar thing happened with the deuces at Ft Riley a number of years ago.
I have an M1061. The FLU will tow it, but it is slow.
The float only affects the valve closest to the seat. So if you want to float your bucket instead of the loader frame, switch your hoses.* THere is a check valve on the loader. I forget where that is in the circuit and if it would affect...
I am unsure if the 12V solenoid would change things.
I make and sell the cab tilt brackets. I have an exclusive agreement to sell them through Expedition Imports, so go to their website for them.
When I needed a starter, I searched the NSN and found a brand new started for $35 on a popular...
