FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Nice XM47's! If you are using them mostly off-road, you can flip the fronts to traction mode. So many of them are run on highway as well, which is why you see them reversed on the front. As to adjusting the float, it is a pretty simple system, coupling both sides of the cylinder to the tank...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

There was someone else that had a problem with their starter and their ring gear. As I recall he was able to replace the starter and clean up the ring gear. In our modern, throw-away society, we forget that parts can be repaired, not just replaced. Any starter/alternator shop can repair the...

Slow down soldier. No problem, that is typical behavior. It is an over center latch which requires a reverse motion as the boom hits its peak. Look for youtube videos on 580D boom latch.

Avoid Titan 32” thumb on the FLU419

In addition to notching the thumb to clear the tooth, you would also need to add spacers to the crossbar so the pin is in shear rather than bending. See my second photo and Alpine’s post #7. I am still disappointed with the soft steel used to make the pins. I replaced them with hitch pins.

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

I haven’t heard of anyone trying. Based on the 406’s, I think they are unlikely to fit without a cab lift. I have seen pictures of a 406 with 395’s and that required a cab lift and step relocation. As I recall, the 395’s are 46” tall. There is a member on here with 365/80 which are 42”tall. It...

    SEE hose reel swivels

The hose reel is run off of the front pump, not the PTO. Maybe you meant there is no way to turn off the hose reel? If so, you many not want to deadhead the system by capping the hose reel, rather loop them together.

Took my driver door handle into the Locksmith today and got 2 keys made for it. $30. Now I can lock the passenger door from inside and driver door from outside. The key blank is a U61VW. If you are a patient person, you could get a blank and file your own.

Anybody have a cheaper alternative for a flu419 brake master?

Definitely not the same. The FLU one is dual circuit.

Anybody have a cheaper alternative for a flu419 brake master?

Has anyone replaced their master cylinder with a new part and have the old master cylinder laying around as a core? I would like to send it off to one of the companies that sleeve MC's to see if they can come up with a seal kit at an alternative to the Mercedes kit @ $450. I already have one...

I still have the whole reel assy. I figured I would sell it as a complete unit. A rebuild kit is available for it from the mfg.

Congrats, you bought a money pit! Welcome to the club! Did it come from the military like that, or a private seller that gave up? Pic 4 dangling plug is there for the diagnostic system and not needed. pics 6 and 12. You are missing a rubber grommet, and the only way I know to get one is with a...

    pre-purchase inspection

Way off topic to the OP’s question, but considering the 3 versions had different transmissions and different suspensions, that might be reflected in Mercedes parlance as the build spec. If the part numbers on the frames are the same format, then that lends credence to my hypothesis that there is...

    pre-purchase inspection

That's what I have seen. There is a unique 8 digit on the front right frame starting with 1W, but it doesn't match any numbers on the Freightliner VIN plate. Maybe in a basement filing cabinet somewhere there is a paper matching the 2. Hey, is the number on a SEE different format than a HMMH?

Bucket had a paint scuff on it. Their car had a gouge peeling it open all along the Right side. Luckily no one hurt.

I agree with you that the VIN transfers with the major component that has the VIN stamped on it. If all the components are transferred over from one vehicle to the major component of the other vehicle that has the VIN number stamped on it, then it follows the VIN stamping. Kinda like the upper...

No alteration required. They are stamped on it already. Still have the frame with it.

I have a spare VIN plate and title from a FLU419 that I parted out. Getting a title can be difficult and expensive, so I figured someone may be interested in these. In PA, the SMV triangle cannot be displayed if the vehicle is driven faster than 25 mph. If I wanted to drive 25, I would have...

Avoid Titan 32” thumb on the FLU419

Without the backhoe bucket stowing properly, the Rt stabilizer wouldn't stow and stuck out quite far to the Right side. After being inattentive and clobbering a speed limit sign on the road, I decided I needed to fix it. I torched out about 5 inches of material in the center of the thumb so...

I'm adding 3pt seat belts to my FLU for safety and to my surprise, the existing threaded fitting at the top of the B? pillar for the 3pt seat belt is 7/16-20. M10 is too small, M12 too big. 7/16-20 shaves the paint out without any metal shavings. Unbolted the seatbelt at the bottom, and it is...

Spent a couple of hours yesterday and today pulling the bucket and brackets off my spare backhoe for a guy. Used my FLU to do the work.
