And a certainty of a lane for faster traffic to pass you. This prevents unsafe passes and head on collisions.
I've done a bunch of this kind of thing. My opinions -
Interstate preferred for the reasons listed.
Daylight preferred over dark. A breakdown is much less of a big deal at 10 am...
While I have no idea if current EVs are capable of being charged while in motion, there's no reason you can't make one that could be.
Consider though, at that point you've made a vehicle that goes down the road powered by an onboard running engine and you've put a bunch of additional crap...
I'm thinking this would net you the most recovered energy from the diesel fuel used. This would allow you to run the genset at >80% load while charging.
There's system losses from the charging process, but these losses should be measurably less than the losses from running the genset at less...
My understanding is that using all 3 legs as 120v single phase, evenly loaded, will yield the full 15kW. Picking out 2 legs to create a 208v single phase would give you 10kW.
If I'm wrong, please let me know.
Sort of...
Do you need 120v single phase? If so, just split it out to 3 separate legs of 120v single phase, and load each leg more-or-less evenly.
Do you need 240v single phase? If so, how sensitive is your load? Will it be happy with 208v single phase? Got more than one 240v load? Need to...
The 55mph limit is at full load rating. You'll probably be well under the full load rating and would have a comfortable margin above the 55mph.
For maximum tire life more pressure is better, right up to the point where you start getting uneven wear towards the middle of the tread.
In your...
The adapter wouldn't easily attach to a cable. It could probably be done, but not easily and the result would likely be suboptimal.
The 2pin plug attaches to a cable via solder, and possibly via crimping but I haven't done it. If you can find one, that'd be a slicker setup than a single pin +...
I have modern single pin slave plugs and I also have 2pin to single pin adapters to make the single pin slave plug compatible with your 2 pin port. $120 for one of each, including shipping.
I'm out of town for 3 months beginning Friday morning.
I used rustoleum. Readily available. Not extremely durable, but the underlying CARC is providing your protection, the rattlecan is cosmetic and easily touched up.
I had a truck that had intact but faded CARC, like yours. I started with the idea that I was just going to touch up the black and stop there.
I ended up doing the entire truck. I was very pleased with the outcome. I'll be doing it again with other trucks.
Do it freehand. The inevitable...
Agree, and....
My experience over dozens of trucks has been that the 809series 5tons handle speed better than deuces, and 939series trucks handle speed better still.
And none of them are suited for a sustained 70mph. That just doesn't leave you any margin. The first surprise has a real...
You're almost certainly going to time out the oil before you wear out the oil. Thus the extended drain interval on the synthetic doesn't really help you.
My opinion, with a history of being nearly OCD on oil selection, is that the best choice for diesel MVs is any decent oil (I use Rotella...
