Making an adapter plate to mount an MG3 gun ring to my deuce/5-ton
I have a spare set of legs for an M49 or M66 gun ring so I bought an MG3 gun ring and am going to make an adapter plate that will allow me to mount the MG3 ring onto the adapter plate then mount the entire assembly to the gun...
I just made my plans to attend. I'll be staying at the doubletree Friday night and plan to be at the show all day Friday and Saturday. Anyone here planning to attend? Anyone want to plan a S.S. get together?
I know I'm highjacking this thread but I'm restoring a VN era wrecker and should could use a pair of beacon lights. Anyone got a set available? I can make the mounting brackets etc. I really just need the beacons.
I've done a few car shows as well and usually get a great response. I entered a car show in Temecula CA. a few years ago, I received a few stink-eyes when I drove thru so I intentionally stomped on the throttle to throw up some nice plumes of unsent diesel, you never saw so many dust brushes...
Cool idea. I ended up borrowing an "air lift " tool from a mechanic friend. Vacuum bled the system and filled it at the same time.

Base plate for vise is standard and my vise is missing as well. Also, spare tire on M543 is directly behind cab, centered and parallel to the back of the cab.
I have a set of legs but no gun ring. An MG3 gun ring looks like it would work with some simple manufactured plates to span from the legs to the ring. Anyone mount this style ring to their truck?
