Dragonman, the NSN is 5340010841232 and P/N is 12276904 for the BRACKET, MOUNTING as described in the TM. I have the motor numbers listed above.
rwoods, that's good to know about the 19 cid alternative. The price is much better!
runk, I decided to open my motor. You can read all about it in...
OK folks, I need a lot of items picked up from Mechanicsburg, PA. The items are laying on 2 pallets, but are light enough to be moved by hand, leaving the pallets behind. There are 3 pulley assemblies, one tire/wheel, one manifold for a laundry trailer, and 6 impellers around 18" in diameter...
Didn't the first M35A3 released go for $40k+? I was thinking it was some crazy number. Then they were in the 20's, then teens, and now under 8 grand. If they end up releasing more FMTV's, then they should trend down in price as well. I'll wait until they get under $10k. :)
Right on, Neil!
I had a little time last night to work on the hydraulic motor that powers the winch. I messed with it the other day getting the bent and broken hydraulic hose fittings off of it. I couldn't spin the shaft by hand and it was very hard to turn even with a strap wrench.
I...
I had a 404S Funkwagen or radio-truck a few years back. I swapped the bed for a cargo bed and had a blast with it. They are geared like tractors, so don't expect to go drag racing. They also have portal axles and front and rear lockers so they will off-road in stock form like nothing else I...
Thanks Dwight!
Jason, glad you got a chance to see it again. Hopefully I'll be able to take you for a spin before too long!
Kevin, those boxes are definitely a better fit in the bed of a 5-ton. Too bad they are so dang heavy we had to use a Bobcat to load them [thumbzup]
I am hoping to...
Sounds great. Congrats on getting a group together. I talked about it with a few people when I was living in Charleston, but never got around to doing it. I will be moving back in-state here in a couple of weeks so I will have to come down for a meeting. I will be in the Clarksburg area so...
Here are some photos of my hydraulic motor from my M925A2. As mentioned before, it is a Char-Lynn pump by Eaton. The Char-Lynn P/N on my tag is 109-1094-004 or 11669777 in military format. The Char-Lynn number listed in the TM is 109-1094-106 or NSN 4320011376293. The last three digits of...
Thanks Bruce!
I had a productive day at John's today. My goal was to get all of the lights working, get the mirrors installed, and anything else I could lay my hands on. I got some Grote LED marker lights from Santa and have really been looking forward to putting those on.
I started out...
I only know of one member who has done that successfully. He goes by GIJoeCzar on SS. He is very knowledgeable about the whole process. He said it was very $$$ so I hope you got the 925 cheap. Did someone preview the truck for you? Some of those trucks look decent in GL pics, but are very...
Thanks! Now I can test drive it without worrying about losing all the stuff sitting on the bed
That spray-on bed liner will need to be stripped off of the entire bed. There is rust forming anywhere it was cut or gouged. I need to figure out a more efficient way of stripping it off...
Well, since we got the bedsides and tailgate mounted on Sunday, I should be able to do some testing soon. I will try it on hard packed dirt/gravel first and then try the pavement.
The glow system puts a big load on the electrical system when it cycles. It could be loading your #2 alt. enough to cause the belt to slip. I had a 1009 that would do the same thing. It was always a PITA to keep the belts tight enough to prevent squealing, but not so tight that it wore out...
Thanks Mike!
I felt like a major slacker because it had been 2 weeks since I worked on the truck so a work session was scheduled for today at Winslow's. I managed to talk my brother and Dad into going with me. I knew I was going to need their help because today was bedside and tailgate day...
I got my bedsides and tailgate on today. I will repeat the test next weekend and see what happens. I will make sure I do it in a straight stretch so I don't end up in John's field!
