I do have a local guy with a CUCV but his F150 took a dump and his CUCV is now his daily driver. So that is my backup plan but how long it takes is the question.
Unfortunately I have hit a brick wall as it were. Until I have the drivers side rear coolant block off plate with the sensor in hand I cant complete the CUCV version of the kits. Ideally somebodies truck is down for maintenance or unused for a few weeks and can send it too me to finish the...
I hate to say this guys but I had my swap from bucket to auger done in 45 mins. I used penetrating oil liberally on all surfaces and tapped off the paint on the snap ring area and with a short sledge and a little cussing, off the pins came. Now when the pin came out it was dirty and needed...
Dont feel too bad General as misery has company, turns out whenever I use the accessory real switch it works but then blows the fuse when I turn it off!?!?! I have relegated myself to just not using it for now as I continue my ranch fence project (pics to follow). By the way the cool auger...
My bars, like most of the Texarkana trucks are bent because they got lifted up by a telehandler on them. I wonder of some of the handling issues people have might be because the rear axle is cocked and articulated forward shortening the track?
I have heard that about the speed before but other than airing up the Michelins to 50psi it is all standard FLU419. Perhaps I am just more comfortable with the truck at speed than others. I did add some toe-in and bent the track bars a bit to get the rear axle tracking right.
So I just started getting fuel starvation issues after operating and driving at speed for over an hour today. Opened the fuel cap and I had a huge rush of air. I pulled the breather valve and it was blocked. I am not sure with what but after a lot of compressed air and some scraping a ton of...
I ordered the bracket from my equipment rental place who ordered it from LOWE who makes the original auger for the FLU419. I am absolutely sure that there are other ways to do this and the bracket will fit many other larger form augers like the LOWE unit. I figured that having the bracket...
My current hoses are OEM Mercedes plastic clear hose. The blue hose above is hard teflon inside but soft outer. I think it will do a better job and is more flexible too.
I dont bleed it, I just prime it a bit watching the clear return hose and keep going until there are no bubble passing.
I like to put heat/sound deadner (dynamat was the original) in mine. I comes in rolls that you stick to floors, tunnel etc. and roll it down. It conforms to the contours of the panels and edges and can then be painted if you wish or put down factory insulation (expensive) on top. It has an...
Mine will start but it needs a lot of cranking if I dont prime it after sitting a week or more. I am saving some of that cranking time by priming it first. I know there is something bleeding down. I am tempted to put the Teflon lined hose I use on my HMMWV cooling upgrade kits to change out...
I hate reading this only because my SEE is running really really well BUT if I wait a week and try to start it I see lots of air when I use the primer heading back to the tank. I really dont want to dig in but my perfection side is kicking in.....arrrrg!
Put er to work today....found out how handy the hyd. cutoff conversion to my hyd. chainsaw can be. I know the blade is small but it is all I had on hand. I am replacing a wire fence with a wood ranch fence and am cutting out the old as I go.
You are correct about the flow pattern. The issue is that the feed and return are at the front of the block and heads, coolant stagnates at the rear of the block. Localized temperatures of the rear two cylinders is 40+deg hotter than the fronts. This is a VERY common issue on early GM style...
