Spin on fuel filter options for cold weather

I'm not sure what the existing CUCV circuit will handle. You could always measure the amps using a meter to see what the stock one draws. I never considered that because I used a relay with a dedicated circuit. Probably unnecessary but I didn't check the voltage compatibility beforehand which...

Spin on fuel filter options for cold weather

Be aware that the fuel heater feed from the CUCV is 12v...ask me how I know! My FM100 has a 24v heater and I just wired a simple relay that is switched by the CUCV heater wire and draws off of the 24v bus.

    M1031 projects

There are many Chinese built controllers on Ebay that will work for under $150 if you search hard enough. These are mostly older technology analog units like the ones that came on these M1031's. They should be a direct fit replacement as they are sold that way. You can cross your Coleman...

    M1008 37"tires

The rear looks like just a 4"ish block. Pretty standard fare if you are not into a shackle flip. The front looks pretty mickey mouse. I agree, someone added almost an entire leaf pack to the factory one. For the price of front lift springs, I would spend the coin and put some 4" lift springs...

Solution to M1031 generator control system using b4thundr Woodward Apecs controller

I had to replace my compressor motor which set me back a few hundred for a nice 240v unit. Your 3 phase unit is worth about nothing, I got $15 from someone with a project.

Questions regarding carrier replacement (for a locking diff) M1009

Wow, I see a lot of misinformation here. One, the pinion can stay where it is at. It doesn't even have to come out. First you are going to measure backlash and take a pattern as this is what we are replicating on the new carrier. Pull the carrier and remove the ring. Now place the empty...

    CUCV Integrated winch mount.

I like the reproduction brush guards. Everyone online wants $250+ for them without a bumper which to me is stupid money for something I still have to refinish or bend it straight again. I'd rather pay money for something new ready to paint and install. I don't like the idea of the winch being...

balancing 37" and 36" hummer tires.. not working out

I have Centramatic balancers and I like them even though they are $$$. Sorry to hear yours don't work anymore. I'll always advocate that the surplus 37's are not what they are cracked up to be. Everyone is quick to say how great of a deal they are, wear resistant, and work well with the 4.56...

    Where's Your License Plate?

I think the lack of threads is what the original problem is. Get it? No threads for his license plate :)

    Voltage regulator question

If it is putting out that voltage even after revving the engine, I think you due for a rebuild. I would recommend a good quality kit and do both Gens just to make sure the other one doesn't go south a week later.

    H1 wheels on M1028

I don't think you have to pass the bar to realize that friendly hobby chat has been passed when you tell people that running rims backwards is OK. This is how bad things happen because someone with lesser knowledge saw it on the internet: He ran them off road and on road with no problems

    H1 wheels on M1028

This original thread is a few years old, not sure why the resurrection but I'll throw out my 2 cents. One, if you are running spacers you should have definitely already researched the implications like quality, material, maintenance and legality in your state. You probably should have also...

Speed vs RPM for the M1009 6.2 diesel?

Governor removed? That would mean internal injection pump mods...that scares me...

    M1009 What Part is this???

Could be My Suburban has a bunch of vacuum operated doors between the AC and rear climate control. That would make sense if the hose goes into the cab then.

    M1009 What Part is this???

Pretty much every AC system has a clutch cut off at or near wide open throttle since you are commanding maximum engine power. Since the IP is non-electronic, the AC system needs some way of cutting the clutch off at WOT. I wonder if this is a way for modulator vacuum to signal that the engine is...

    M1009 What Part is this???

I wonder if it cuts the ac clutch when you hit a certain throttle angle. Does it T in anywhere on the transmission vacuum modulator system on the side of the injection pump?

M1009 Spare tire mount on grill brush guard?

I don't see how mounting anything to a CUCV brush guard is a good idea other than lights or a hi-lift. They are pretty cheese as is. Adding a winch or tire does not seem like a good idea to the stock setup unless you are doing some serious reinforcing.

    Fuel leak / starting issue

I wouldn't check, I would personally just replace them so every flex line is of the same age. It only takes one to cause a problem. Another good thing to do is drop the tank and replace the sending unit sock. They can plug up as well. This is also an opportune time to change those lines as well...

    Fuel leak / starting issue

He used the word "god" and not "God" so technically he was not specifically referencing any particular or formal invisible entity so probably arbitrary at this point... Any fuel leak will give you starting issues, think of your fuel system like a hydraulic system. If it leaks, you possibly are...

    24 volts everywhere!

I remember trying to find "24v" glow plugs for a 6.2 and could never find an actual plug even for the HMMWV listings. I was thinking of just doing a simple push button solenoid control and feed them all right from 24 volts but never did because it doesn't exist for our application. I could be...
