I agree on both counts. That's why there is a 2500 AND an M35 sitting in my driveway. I took the photos a few months ago purely as a size comparison. People look at the Deuce and say that's a huge truck! But it really isn't. Put both side by side and the Deuce doesn't look as big.
I liked the...
I thought very few of them had been released. No paperwork on an armored vehicle would concern me. Especially a currently serving armored vehicle released to the public in very small numbers.
GA would not title my 1952 M38 even though I purchased it with a valid OH title. I am a currently serving Soldier that decided to own historic military vehicles not only to preserve history for the public to see, but also for my fellow service members to appreciate our link to those that came...
Many have rolled forward? As in a front flip, the rear of the truck flipping up and over the front? I'm very skeptical that has happened to even one FMTV. What's your source?
I haven't looked at the stats on FMTV accidents, but when I have some time I can look up every case of a reported Army...
The M4A3E8 or "Easy eight" had a Ford GAA V8 engine instead of the Continental radial, greatly improved HVSS suspension, wider tracks, and a 76mm gun. In a nutshell, the E8 incorporated multiple improvements that had been applied over several models into one tank.
The TM states the ringer voltage WILL harm the 1780. If you have a field phone hooked up do not use the ringer. The way it was supposed to work is the phone user would whistle or talk into the handset to get the attention of the vehicle crew. At least one crewman would have a CVC helmet or...
When I had two trucks at my last residence I had to park one at a nearby storage lot. My driveway (and my wife) couldn't (wouldn't) accommodate two trucks. It was only mildly inconvenient. When I wanted to work on the one at the lot I would drive the other to the storage lot and exchange them...
What did the armored suburban cost that agency? Probably more than the MRAP cost swat435's department. They take what they can get, and right now they can get MRAPs.
DRMO is no longer with us, Disposition Services is the new name of the office within DLA that may be able to answer your question in detail and provide adequate references. See disposition services here. There are multiple document within their website that may have the answers you need.
Try using the push to talk switch on the phone. Also make sure you do not use the ringer on the phone. Look at TM 11-5830-340-12 VIC-1. It goes into specifics on settings.
While in use as a point to point field phone there isn't really any appreciable difference between TA-43's and TA-312's. You'll be able to use either as a phone and the cost is comparable. 43's and 312's will work together as well. In fact, you may find TA-312's cheaper as there seem to be more...
Has anyone contacted Trucklite to see what they say? They claim a lifespan of thousands of hours beyond incandescents, but the lights fail fairly often. Do they stand behind their products? Thankfully none of mine have failed yet.
Great looking truck Skullmaster.
The US flag is supposed to be mounted up front on the right fender, or at the very least just on the right. Switch the POW/MIA flag with the US flag. Always put the US flag on it's own right and higher than the other flags.
