I just parted out an M927 and I kept both storage boxes. I think I'm going to do this conversion except I will stack the salvaged box on top of the existing box if it will fit under there
I would meet up with him and tell him you appreciate the nice thoughts but you feel bad about accepting his kindness.
Now in the guys defense he may enjoy the sound of the deuce and just be "paying it forward". Or not.
At any rate by speaking to him (in a nice and diplomatic manner) you will...
Some day's you're the bug, somedays you are the windshield.
The last 5 ton I bought in Atlanta looked good in the pics. They omitted the pic that would have shown that both brake cans had been ripped off by a forklift. GL yard monkey strikes again.:roll:
If Oshkosh will sell you parts (I got the bums rush when I tried to get some bolts for the MK-48) you better lube up before you ask the price. Remember their primary customer has an unlimited supply of our tax money.
Since a lot of parts are proprietary they are the only game in town and they...
The day of the 1000 dollar deuce is long over. A lot of them were cut up for the axles or abused to death in mudding events.
In my opinion 4500 is a good price for a good runner with a hardtop (and I have bought/sold/traded a lot of deuces).
There was a time when you could get a good 900...
Check your front differential. I replaced a transfer case thinking it was bad. Turned out it was the front end making the racket. It would throw oil all over the drivers side of the engine. Loss of power is usually fuel filters if you're lucky.
Considering it took us most of the day to cut the offending axles out I'd say you have your work cut out for you.
I'm still considering what do do with the ISO bed off the donor truck.:shrugs:

I have bought them for between 2800 and 6500. All total I have bought four.
Price is often driven by how many are available at one location and how bad other people want them.
The 400 Cummins mechanical pump engine is getting to be a very sought after re-power item.
You can find a...

Due to the high compression of the double breasted Driptriots they are very cold natured, especially in sub-zero weather. I spent two tours in Korea and we were out at tank gunnery and the temp was 35 below zero one winter. In that weather it is best to let them idle if they are in...

If you have the ring itself you can fab the rest. The legs are just thick wall pipe and all the gussets and plates can be fabricated if you can find the line drawings or another mount to use as a pattern.
A lot of "Gate Guardian" vehicles have the mounts in place if you can find one...

I store all my bad stuff in a small confined area so the fire department can find it. It's easy to follow the fireball.
I actually remember my buddy getting a chemistry set (back in the day) that not only had the formula for gunpowder in it but also the necessary ingredients to make...

I built one to pull the liner out of a 250. I think I still have it, if so I'll post pics.
If I remember it did not give up without a fight but mechanical advantage is your friend.
