It was a pleasure to meet Mark and his son. I had my doubts when I saw the Hondo but they made it work with some "redneck engineering" and shrink wrap.
And it was turkey......yep....turkey....raised it out back in a cage.
I swear it was turkey.:wreckerman893:
If it is a paying gig make sure you have a signed contract expressing exactly what your vehicles will be used for and the daily rate. I charge 300 per day plus expenses for the M927. Do not, under any circumstances, let someone from the production company drive your vehicles unless they have...
The last time I was up at Redstone they had over 100 HUMVEES in two lots that had to be demilled. Demilled to the point where you even had the shear the tires and rims.
I had a long talk with the GL site manager and he told me that those were the last two lots that would be demilled. He said...
I've mixed them without issue but didn't store the mixture long. My recipe for a hundred gallons of "Deuce Elixer" was 30 gallons of WVO, 30 gallons of WMO, 30 gallons of diesel and 10 gallons of gasoline.
To the best of my knowledge none of that type 900 series trucks ever had crew served weapons mounted on them because there was no where to stand to fire them.
The two best days of my M816 ownership was the day I got it and the day I sold it. It was a self-inflicted wound since I didn't preview it and bought it from Shelby (a known rebuild facility with a history of cannibalizing trucks). It's the only truck (out of over 200) I ever bought from GL that...
The only question I would have is why would you want to lose all the creature comforts of a civy cab and replace it with the spartan deuce cab. If I had to drive an MV every day I would consider putting a civy cab on it.
The truth is stranger than fiction judgy wudgy.
Okay......now my interest is piqued. I have the driveshafts that came out of the M927 I scrapped out.
My first suspect would be the one that ran from the front axle to the transfer case because it is long and has the splined shaft section.
I...
I been to five marrins, three burins, two rodeos and a goat ropin an I ain't never seen nothin like that.
I recovered vehicles using just about ever authorized (and unauthorized) method and never even heard of doing a recovery like this.
The trucks would have to be joined together some...
If you are repositioning with no load on and just ease along you can use low range in reverse. If you apply torque you risk damage. If your linkage is adjusted correctly it should not be hard to shift from hi to low.
Prices have gone crazy due to Government Liquidation losing the contract for rolling stock.
You will pay a few thousand more for just about any truck being sold in the next two weeks.
After that you will have to buy from Gov Planet and they start prices high.
