I turned it up a little more and gave it a short run this morning. Seemed to be a little better. I’ll add some more this afternoon. I popped tested the injectors, ended up sonic cleaning them and resetting them not long ago. Thanks
I’m 99.9% sure it’s timed right. When the mark lines up with the balancer and valves are in the right position I can see the red tooth. The fdc is bypassed. I didn’t realize that took the droop screw out of the equation, guess that explains why moving it made no change. I’ll turn the fuel up at...
I've been struggling with my m51 having a lack of power. When I bought it the previous owner said he installed a different ip because the old one leaked. I've had to turn it up quite a bit to get it to start and run decent but still doesn't like to pull 4th or 5th gear. I noticed tonight it has...
The fdc is bypassed and I have changed the oil. It’s got a small fuel leak around the hh but seems to be coming from where the lines go in but they’re tight. I’ll probably just order a reman from one of the vendors vs having it rebuilt locally
It sat for Atleast a year. There was a lot of fuel in the oil too. I was hoping when I drove it it’d clear up the smoke and fix the lack of power but didn’t.
Trying to get my old multifuel up and running. My problem is it’s lacking power. I can’t get past 3rd gear. Go to 4th and it just lugs and won’t rev. When not moving and you try to rev it goes to 1000 pretty quick, kind of slowly revs till it hits 2000 then does pretty good. About the same when...
I know how to do the work. I was an ase cert master tech for several years till I found I can make a lot better money working on other stuff lol. When I look up the parts for a k5 they show short ends for the left and right tie rods. Mine has one long tie rod with an adjusting sleeve and one...
I’m needing to do a steering box and ball joints on a new to me m1009. Was figuring I would do tie rod ends too. Looks like I can use moog parts for the same year suburban on the tie rod ends because they don’t seem to match for a civilian blazer. Will the ball joints be the same for a civilian...
I'm wanting to replace the wiring harness in my M51 multifuel dumptruck. All the wiring in the cab and under the hood is pretty sketchy. I couldn't find much searching or in the tm's. Probably not looking in the right spot. Do I need a "front" wiring harness? Will that do inside the cab and...
I’ve been reading threads on hub flips but most seem for deuces. And I can’t find anything searching. What size is the socket for flipping them on my m51? Harbor freight have em? I’m 8 hours away in Texas sitting in a hotel room waiting to get my lmtv wheels in the morning lol
Had to adjust the fuel on my M51 multifuel today, starts right up and idles great now. I think it might still be a little low but I want to install an EGT and boost gauge before I go any farther. What ones are you guys running? I'd like something that matches the interior and doesn't look to out...
M51 with the multifuel. Ever have the fuel lines leak where the attach to the hh? I checked and they’re tight. It’s hard to tell which one but looks like it seeps enough to drip off the side of the head. The previous owner installed a new ip and couldn’t get it to start. With your guys help I...
