Unless I'm missing something, using a wheel as a winch by wrapping around the wheel and securing to the hub will not work unless you are using both hubs on the same axle at the same time. Without both hubs pulling on your winch point, the side of the axle not winching will just spin in the mud...
WMO = waste motor oil
WVO = waste veggie oil/cooking oil
WATF = what a terrific fluid (waste ATF)
Yes, ATF seems to give the truck a little more pep and cleans out the fuel lines.
Some people find when you first switch to running waste oils you will need to change your fuel filters. I carry...
My first mods were car seats, a second deuce fuel tank where the spare tire was, a muffler, coolant filter, adding the 90 degree bend 4" exhaust pipe to the intake so it faces down like a snorkel, EGT digital pyrometer, boost gauge, back-up lights, and changing all the fluids!
Second round in...
Just to clarify, the 12v and 24v systems are ok to share the chassis for grounding? You don't have to isolate them?
Also where can I get the 24v/12v relay used to turn on the 12v system?
Thanks!
I'll be shopping for a friend at Aberdeen!
He needs:
1 5-ton air cleaner assembly (like for an m818 )
2 5-ton fuel tanks
1 5-ton passenger side front fender
1 5-ton tool box for behind the cab
1 5-ton driver side front fender (only need that if it is CHEAP)
1 truck mounted plug for the trailer...
Front driver side hub boot was leaking (old zipper boot leaking at the zipper) so I've been working on that all weekend. I'm replacing all seals and packing bearings. The seals and the bearings looks great so I'm going to hold off on doing the other side until it needs it.
Next is install the...
I was just going to ask if there was fluid in it. Open the drain plug to verify the crack isn't in an area where there isn't lube.
You can also see a decent amount with a small dentist mirror and a pen light through the fill plug on top.
What filter are you referring to?
Woah, woah! All this hating on welded differentials is making me nervous!
I trailer a jeep cherokee to offroad parks and I welded up the rear differential for an economical locker. They have a time and place to be used...
But ya, a deuce on the road is not one of them.
Keep shopping! I...
I read on here that the oil acidity increases with age and can do harm to nickel coatings on filter mounts.
Not sure if that matters.
I let oil sit for months, and I plan on letting it sit a lot longer.
I don't know which mod I consider more valuable, adding some car bucket seats in the cab or adding a muffler.
There are several options for adding a muffler but I went the quick, easy, and cheap way with this pretty much bolt on set-up that fits behind the stock heat shield and eliminated the...
Agree with all the above.
I'll take function over appearance any day though. I already have Nissan Altima bucket seats installed in my cab so I'm pretty far past looking stock. :grd:
