If reckless use of starter fluid is the cause of the problems, then the likely mechanisms are -
1) broken rings
2) damage to the pistons between the ring grooves (lands)
3) stuck rings
4) scored cylinder walls
5) bent pushrods
I'm hoping that your problems are unrelated to ether use...
Slave plug on one end. Anderson SB350 connector on the other.
Do something like this and swap one end of your 2pin cable to an Anderson connector. Then put the (removed) 2pin on an Anderson connector.
Now you have a slave cable that can go from 2pin to 2pin, or 2pin to single pin.
The 6.2 in my 1986 M998 starts nearly instantly also. As in, you just hit the switch and immediately release and it's running.
Not exactly the same, but close.
The 8.3 in my M936A2 is the same. Just bump the switch and it starts, probably the first time any of the 6 pistons comes up on...
We put a 16.00 XZL on a 5ton combat rim. Mounted it on an M923A0 . At full turn on a level parking lot it made contact.
To get around this you can -
1) live with it
2) use hemtt rims up front (or all 6)
3) adjust your steering stops
As for me, I opted for HEMTT rims all the way around. I'd...
I've had all of these.
My preference for a truck that is primarily a toy is the AT3 in 16.00.
If you're doing primarily off road and heavy, the XML in 395/85/R20 is good choice.
14.00s are getting scarce and expensive. Choose 16.00's or 395's.
16.00's rob the bottom end noticeably...
The old diesel - if it doesn't have overt signs of life in it, it's probably OK, especially if its JP8.
I ran a tank of JP8 through a truck that I know for a fact had been sitting since 2003.
I'd be tempted to run it through the filters on a transfer tank in any event.
I bet you're right. Memory says so...
They only started specifying "clean" when they were selling with and without the stamp, to differentiate the two.
