Recovery4x4, going forth armed with state statute "might" score me a display-only tag, if I could figure a way around the 30yr old part.
<Pissed off at GovPlanet Off-Road-Use-Only SF-97 Humvee buyers who abused the FL DMV system, goes in search of a titling agency so as to take advantage of...
I'm waiting on a scan of the PA title showing the make and model info. I would think it already having a title, it gets around the DA-97 Off Road Use Only issues. There are civilian version of the truck on the road as well as former Austrian mfg versions. The gal who issued my license today...
Truck is currently on clean, road-use, Pennsylvania title. So looks like I cannot register the truck in FL? Or, cannot be registered as the discounted mil vehicle plates, only a straight-across, fully taxed POV?
Has anybody been able to register/plate a M1078 LMTV or M1081 LMTV LVAD in Florida? Lady at Santa Rosa County DMV told me they weren't allowed to register military surplus vehicles anymore. The 320.086 states he owner of a motor vehicle for private use manufactured in a model year after 1945...
Finally retiring to FL on 19th. I have a M1081/M1078 LMTV in Brownsville, PA I need to have moved to Navarre to be delivered after Mar 20th. Pickup and delivery flexible. Truck runs on its own power. Delivery is residential on a paved road (or gravel around the corner if you prefer)
A few years ago, I bought a book called "Roughneck Nine One: The Extraordinary Story of a Special Forces A-Team at War" by SFC (Ret) Frank Antenori and Hans Halberstadt. Story is an account of Operation Viking Hammer, aka The Battle of Debecka Pass (Mar 28-30 2003). ODA 391(3/3SFG) was...
Tracer, you sure are blessed, buddy! Chocolate goatees and LMTV! No excused now for you to get rid of the toy, you can fit the whole family in the cab safely. Just wait until they are bigger and they fight over who rides shotgun and who rides Ma Deuce!
I got my M1081 priced from Western PA to FL Panhandle for $1400 from fellow on uShip, but my rig is drivable. Dunno what to tell ya, maybe a local will help you with a tow bar? You'd have to pull your driveshaft though. There's a $230 tool that does it quick at least.
Found this Winter 2003 edition of the Special Forces Association magazine "The Drop" featuring FMTV modified resupply vehicle. Pics appear to show the early OEF "MOTHER" type truck with a cab rollbar and 2 M240 armament kit.
Anybody else want a MilSysGroup.com LMTV GPMG Mount? Last call, one...
Welcome, Matt! I'll be moved to Ft Walton Beach or Navarre by end of Jan with my M1081 War Pig, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
There's a range near you, Ancient City Range, that hosts an SPR/DMR shoot every 3 months or so I may get to with my Mk12 Mod1 SPR.
I always screw with the Easy Co 506th PIR reenactors, have to correct them that the German Fallschirmjaegers fled Carentan not because Easy moved in, but because Lt Col Robert G Cole lead a 3/502nd PIR bayonet charge across the causeways and directed an intense artillery barrage that caused FJR6...
Better to have and not need than need and not have. Having to hire a big enough tow truck to snatch an LMTV out of a bad spot is going to cost several Benjamin Franklins. Consider the SRW cheap insurance? If that came with my own truck I'd install it to be self sufficient. But, its your rig...
I imagine the keypad itself may have its own integrated circuit that tells the LED which Nos to form. It may be possible to run a jumper from the Amphenol power plug socket in back to wherever on the keypad to produce numbers in the keypad screen. If not maybe a cheap calculator guts...
