There's more "Elmers" than you would believe in the area!..I'm in San Jose, done military radios for 40 years. You might check out the ASVARO electronic flea market at the Sunnyvale Library in the morning of April 9th (0600-1200).
It's kinda hard to help you with install issues if you don't...
The biggest problem is shipping them today! Half the time it'll cost more than the mast itself. There used to be a hamfest in Timonium where you might find them and there, the Red Ball military vehicle meet over in PA and search around the Aberdeen and Tobyhanna.
There are all kinds of military HF radios out there. PRC-104, PRC-138, PRC-174, GRC-193, GRC-213, GRC-215, GRC-220, GSB-900, RT100-MP. Be aware that none of them are cheap but they'll all do what you want. Take a look over at Elly Excess, they occaasionally have something.
Hey guys, back when I learned radio antenna theory we always thought a lower frequency antenna needed to be LONGER than one on higher frequencies. Grinding will not make your antenna length longer! Just sayin'.
99% of all search engines suck! We're spoiled by Google and expect all search engines to behave as well, well, they don't. Search engines cost money to develope and most companies buy something off the shelf that might, kinda sorta, maybe does what they want! Most fail. Another one of the...
Hi Mike, The AS-3900 isn't adjustable as far as the frequency is concerned like the AS-1729 and I've never swept one to see exactly what the range is but the VSWR meter should give you a clue as to whether or not the 3900 will work with a CB set on 27 Mhz. Do people still even use the Citizens...
Depending on which antenna you have the top sections might not be that expensive to just replace. Re-glassed antennas never look all that good. Can you post the model of your antenna or a picture?
Dave Pizzaferrato over at WeeBee Webbibg did mine in 383 cordura green nylon, He's done a couple of sets for me over the years and dors axcellent work. I highly recommend him.

If your turn signals are flashing and operating normally but not when you go to the hazard light position your problem isn't the flasher, it's your turn signal switch. That's the component that connects everything together to make all four lights work in hazard mode. The fact that they flash...
I purchased about a dozen of the LAU boxes before I found out why the government sent them to DRMO. I sent them back to LAU and they upgraded the software for free but by then they had such a bad reputation no one wanted them.
Without knowing which version of their box you have, do you want...
One of the problems with the HMMWV is that all of the changes and upgrades to them don't always make it into the manuals. Beyond that there are a raft of Maintenance Work Orders (MWOs) and TBs (Technical Bulletins) that you need to be aware of that contain relevant information supplemental to...
Just a quick reminder that registration for the upcoming Plymouth meet closes on March 24th. After that we return any unused sites to the 49er RV Park and late registrants may or may not receive the reduced MVCC resort rates. The registration form can be found in the MVCC Newsletter, online at...
That spring just puts a little side tension on the brake rod to keep it form rattling as you drive. With the noise in these things you'd probably never hear it anyway but just clip it to anything it will reach. It's not critical.
