2007 1165A1 ELECTRIC SYSTEM PROBLEM ON STARTUP ONLY ?

It's commonly referred to as AFTERGLOW. The control box pulses the glow plugs until it starts to see the temperature increasing. This is why it's bit longer in cold weather.

    Grounding

Another reason to install the supplemental grounding harness! When you install it it has you remove and clean all the primary grounding points insuring good bonding. It's a simple cable to make up with some 8 gauge wire or you can just buy one. When you install it make sure to use some...

    Insulation mates

Most of the interior insulation is available from a company called db Engineering here: https://800nonoise.com/ Great people to deal with, they cut all of the overhead panels for my 996 ambulance.

    humvee vic-1 mounting pics needed

Tom, Your request isn't clear and that's probably why there haven't been any answers to it. The VIC-1 intercom amplifier (AM1780) mounts on a plate beneath the radio shellf on it's legs and the cables transition out from there, Now is your request actually how the C-2298 crewmember box mounts...

    Anti-theft measures?

Just install a battery disconnect switch. That'll kill everything. There's no reason you can't double up on your security system. An RFID to stop someone from starting the truck and a battery disconnect to totally disable it.

    STE/ICE connector

The STE/ICE kit I had for about 15 years made a great step stool to help reach the top of my toolbox! The STE/ICE kits were designed for the inept 18 year old coming into the service with little to no experience with automotive systems. Anyone that's turned a wrench for more than a couple of...

    Humvee cluster acting up solved

I think springer1981 has the right idea on this. The instrument cluster has a 5 lead "spider" harness that gets it's power directly from CB2 when the RUN switch is turned on. This is the power for all of the gauges. If it's tripping and then trying to reset it'll act this way. A key indicator...

    EESS Issues

Guys, Diesels like to run HOT and when they're cold they don't burn the fuel in the cylinders as efficiently. This and the Cold Start Circuit is already adding extra fuel to the engine because of the cold so hold off on jumping to conclusions about stuff being screwed up. It's an expensive...

How do I hook this up?

The Harris radios like the PRC-117f in it's vehicle VAU have power continuously applied to pin A and ground on pin B. When pin C is switched between 0 and 28 volts this turns the radio on and off. The remote switch box is the only way to do this from a remote location. The wires on pins A and...

    X Door Restoration

It's amazing what some time and patience will do for these trucks. The militaries motto is "Hurry up and Wait" yet they never have the time it (or incentive) it right yet their second motto is "There's never enough time to do it right, But always time to do it again". Funny about that one...

m1123 200amp generator hitting injector line

Are you sure the correct belt is on your truck and that some troop didn't just throw on whatever they had in the shop onto it? Those belts come in all different lengths and there's a chance it isn't the right one.

Hard Start, white smoke despite good glowplugs and 24v at each lead??

In cold weather the cold start solenoid in the IP opens to inject a little extra fuel to start the truck. What you may be seeing is that extra fuel burning off, especially if it goes away after a couple minutes.

    Alternator changeout issues

When you do radio installations you always use those star washers because they bite through the paint and dig into the metal giving a good ground. If you have them they're a good guarantee but they can be hard to find sometimes. I know that McMaster-Carr sells them and they're not that...

    Military Electrical Sealant

It's called EXPENSIVE! Only the military can afford that stuff. Just buy a good brand of silicon sealer over at Home Defect and be done with it.

    Alternator changeout issues

For Heaven only knows what reason the composite lights on military vehicles ground thru BOTH mounting holes. There should be a small strap that goes between them to make sure they both see a good ground. Forget the strap and you get all kinds of wierd electrical issues. Make sure the...

Is your transfer case lock light working? There are 2 Packard connectors in that area that connect it to the main harness.

    Alternator changeout issues

Those resistors are 50 ohm, 50 watt units. I have a pretty good stock of them if you want to replace it. PM if interested. Kurt
