I bought a BIG air impact wrench from Harbor freight but was disappointed to find that it does not work so great when run from the 7 Ton's air compressor. It works great when run from my shop compressor and it takes the lug nuts off good. I wish the Marines didn't paint the threads but I guess...
Well, I got bad news. Last week I had received a call from Austin, the yard manager at Yermo, and he said that they still could not find my truck. They had some theories about it but the truck had not been located. He was nice and we chatted for awhile. He said that someone from corporate would...
Oshkosh made trailers specific for the 7 Ton. I have never seen any for sale.
MK105: cargo trailer, tandem axle max payload 8,000 pounds.
MK149: water trailer, tandem axle water tank can hold 600 gallons.
MK353: Generator trailer, tandem axle, 30 kw and 60 kw generators.

There is a thread about locking gas caps.
Also, lest we forget, the "official" way to secure the trucks is to put the rod through the steering column with the steering wheel turned and then put a lock on the rod. The rod is kept under the dash close to where you would put it through the...
I was running some errands today and I drove by a Ace Hardware so I stopped. I found a pin that may work. It has just one ball bearing to retain it but it might work.
737Driver,
Here are the photos. Note the pin has two detent ball bearings on it that keeps it on the cover plate. Looks like the pin is a 3/8 in diameter and 2 7/8 inches long. I don't think the length is so important. You can see the ball bearing in the second photo. I think Ace Hardware might...
Well, I did this awhile ago but I will post it now. I thought the truck was driving a little funny and the tires were wearing funny so I thought I would check the front alignment. It was WAY off. So then I checked the alignment of the two rear axles and they were way off too. The rear axles are...
My circuit breakers would trip all the time and then I would worry about what was shorting out. Everything seemed to work but the breakers would pop up and then I would push them down - over and over. I finally thought I should figure this out so I replaced all the breakers with fuses so I could...
Yes, I picked mine up at Yermo. I bought it in June 2019 and back then they did not bother to put the sides on. Now I think they will take the sides out and put them on because then the truck looks better and will sell for more money. I hope your truck has the sides! Let us know.
Wow! Good job. Thank you for talking about the steps you took to fix your truck. I am sure it will be helpful to many people.

737Driver,
I can see your truck has the tail gate and ladder. You might have the bed sides stowed in the "trunk." That's what happened to my truck. When I went to pick it up, the first thing I did was open the storage under the bed and I found all the sides, the benches, and side tops in there...
I made this short video about starting and driving a 7 Ton in case there are people who do not know how exactly to do it.
Two things I did not make very clear in the video is that the book says to wait 10 minutes after starting before driving and waiting 10 minutes after driving before turning...
So the photo I was uploading was from my new phone and it was 100mp. I guess that is too big to be uploaded. So here is a smaller version showing the tools I used.
I thought about replacing just the boots, they are available from the military and I found one on eBay.
Here is the boot...
The boots on my tie rod ends were completely falling apart and even though the Tie Rod Ends were tight, I thought I should replace the whole thing. So I set out to replace all 4 tie rod ends. I found out quickly that the ones listed in the parts list, the commercial equivalents were not exactly...
So my EUC finally cleared and I sent a trucking company down to Yermo to get it and bring it to its new home. The driver was nice and happened to be from Utah. He got to Yermo about noon and now they close at 2pm so he thought he had time to get my 7 ton loaded. Well, a lot of MTVR trucks were...
