With the 16's and the cat 7155, what is rpm difference between those top gears, around 300 rpm, or more?
Sure do like the looks of those trucks with the 16's on them!
Thanks Josh. Always something to keep in mind.
Especially since NONE of these are any where NEAR close to me!
Mike, dynamic balancing is great because it changes with and to the conditions.
A static balance (lead weights,) is only 'accurate' for a short period of time, and do not take into...
Josh, yes, 5 amp slow blow fuses. Typically listed with a high voltage like that.
As for 5 ton tool boxes, you could fit one of those and a 3k generator in that spot.
Or two 5 ton tool boxes and still keep the spare in place!
Where is the next 'mini' rally?
Seeing as the last mini rally was...
Oh, and the wreckers look so darn nice with the big tires on them!
It seems shallow, but on the 818, I think the way it rides, looks, etc. outweigh the power loss.
What it probably means is I need to adjust the brakes on the 818. If they have to move too far before contact, then you have already applied the brakes on the trailer.
But, having air brakes on a trailer that is fairly empty (I have only towed with about 7k lbs on it so far,) is ALWAYS asking...
From that pdf,
"As a rule of thumb, the
amount of Counteract Balancing Beads required per tire is based on one ounce per thirteen pounds of tire."
The 16's are about 350 lbs each.
Calculate that out to 27 oz. (26.923)
Not sure about his, but on my 818 with 16's, I didn't notice anything negative about the braking. Probably felt BETTER with the bigger tires honestly.
BUT, when pulling my flatbed trailer with full air brakes, I have to watch it because I will lock up the trailer's air brakes well before I get...
Yeah, the 915 would run the road FAR better then the 818 ever will.
I like my 818, but if I ever wanted to use it, I wouldn't....
Which is why I want a 920/916.
With the 250, you can cruise at 65 mph on a good road.
I have MAXED mine out at about 72 mph (GPS speed readings.)
Tow? Just as much as stock, just a lot slower on the hills.
With the big tires, the split between 3 and 4 is huge. I almost never downshift into 3H, I put it down into 5L. Low range...
The heater has it's own lines from the fuel tank, so you can just use those from the aux tank.
Then use the normal lines from the aux tank to full and vent to the main tank.
If you are going to be running less then a constant 20 amp load on the 12v battery(s), then run a 12v battery specific to...
Oh, I had thought about doing on my old 109 a pull out ramp like on rental trucks. It would take a bit of work, but it would be VERY nice to load up heavy stuff and not have to have a lift gate.
What about doing some power inverters to run 120v off the 24v batteries?
Also an equalizer for the batteries will let you draw 12v from a single battery from the system and keep it balanced.
That way you are covered for ALL voltages you would need for everyday kind of things. Especially when...
Two things to check for.
1st. Is there a spring at the top of the outside brake shoe? It should go from the shoe to the bolt that sits above it to set the clearance from the shoe to the drum.
2nd. Are the pins/bolts/bushings (whatever they are,) loose enough that you can wiggle the inner shoe...
As long as it doesn't auto reset (like yours, nice thing to see it's tripped,) then a breaker would be good.
Does it act more like a slow blow fuse though?
5 amp with normal diesel should be fine though.
The WMO causes more work on that little pump, and can kill fuses if you don't use the right...
