Well, flat out, I cannot afford to buy it and do what I want to it. Let alone keeping both trucks.
Of course I keep trying to get my wife to take over the 818 and sell her deuce....
That would be a great way to go, but I doubt that will happen. She wants a 530 fire truck...
Well, that and the...
Reread the title to the thread guys, I already WANT the bigger/newer truck! lol
I am just trying to see if there is any reasons to NOT get one?
Besides the fact that I would have to sell my 818 to afford getting one in the first place.
Oh, I guess one downside is that there is nothing remotely...
Cost IS a factor, but when you start thinking about getting the Jake brakes, turbo upgrade (or motor swap), and all the other stuff that the 916 already STARTS with. Then the cost difference isn't really that big anymore.
Ok, I am a guy that cannot leave something alone, I always have to make it better.
That being said, I LOVE my 818.
BUT, there is a LONG list of things that I want to do to it.
Some of which I consider a safety issue, like jake brakes.
More of them include things like 12v trailer hookups, winch...
Ends up that my brakes were sticking, and in those videos you can see the lights are on a lot!
Not that I think it would have made THAT much difference. But it did make the sprague act weird.
Still, it was fun, and we need to go back up there again.
Oh, and about the only thing she has come close to balking at me getting is a M920....
She didn't say NO though! Just wondered what I could actually use it for.
Oh yeah, and not a wimpy little flash either. It was a lift the shirt and let you stair for a little bit! I was pretty shocked as I was NOT expecting that kind of response with my wife driving!
Oh, she isn't telling you the entire story on those 3 deuces. When we went to pick them all up, she...
Mike W, there are some heavy equipment pieces that have the emergency electric pump for backup.
M16ty is right though, you CAN still steer without the pump running, just a lot worse then stock for arm strength needed. Plenty to control the vehicle and exit a road though.
Unforgiven, it is the...
Bypass the resistor!
Amphi is dead on. If both batteries are ok, just really low on juice, run the slave for a few minutes to help balance them, then you can still start the system, even with the resistor bypassed.
If you have a shorted battery, it could very well fry all the glow plugs in...
I think he needs to change it to desert sand.
After, ostriches stick their heads in the sand, so it would be appropriate after all!!!!
Sucks to hear about someone running through you stuff though. Doors locks in your future?
Yeah, that first image is how those cement trucks were setup.
Some had the rams on the axle like that, others had them on the frame like the assist on the 5 ton is setup, but both sides.
I like the power and steering of my 5 ton, power steering gear box, and an assist ram from the passenger frame to the passenger steering. Not crossover, but everything has great clearance.
Btw, the CEMENT TRUCKS I drove had FULL hydro.
Had to drive full speed on the road, and go VERY slow...
I don't know Scott, you need to see Josh's lower passenger side fender!
It was only that one hill, the others were fun, and didn't damage anything.
It was definitely FUN, and definitely DUSTY!
Well worth it though.
Btw, I haven't checked yet, but my brakes were seriously sticking ON. And I...
