OK, do when I get all ten things fixed in less time, WHO is going to buy me the new shop truck as my grand prize?
Oh, and because I will finish it with time to spare, do I get the bonus prize of of the shop truck coming fully loaded with tools?
Btw, that was a FUNNY post!
I hate to nit pick here guys, but the deuce and 800 series are AIR ASSIST, which is NOT air over hydraulic.
Air assist (what we have), works the same as vacuum assist on any normal vehicle. If you loose your air pressure, you still have brakes, but they are a LOT harder to push.
Air over...
It won't be too much of a load.
Truck weighs a little over 20k.
Trailer weighs 10k.
I imagine that I will have around 5k on the trailer.
So a total of 35k rolling.
The trailer can handle 35k more payload!!!
Don't worry, there will be plenty of smaller vehicles as well this year!
I just hope there are a couple more of the bigger trucks there this year. I was the only 5 ton that made the convoy last year. The wrecker only showed up for the beginning meet (and I even missed that part!)
Speaking of trailers.
I got my flatbed out of my yard! I am still not sure how I got that thing IN my yard, but I was starting to think I would have to cut some fences to get it out!
Ended up being easier then I thought.
I got a couple air leaks fixed on it, and replaced an air pot.
All that is...
I have actually hooked up my 37' 5th wheel to my 818.
We were almost thinking about bringing it to the convoy, but it is a bit overkill since we live right down the road.
Btw, I keep bugging my wife to let me paint the 5th wheel 3 color camo. It would look SO COOL to tow that with the 818!!!
Yup, darn lucky. Good place to live, and it just happens to be a few miles away from the Convoy/parade!
Btw, can't wait to get some of that elk to eat!!!
Last year I drove up from CA in the 818 and my wife drove the M1009.
It was 430 miles each way for us just to get here, plus all the convoy miles, and miles back out to rescue a stranded truck.
MAN, I am sure glad I am only a few miles from the start of the convoy this year!!!!!
I REALLY want to see this with some big tires on it!
It looks like it is sitting really high up there with the stockers, but it might look about right with the 16's on it.
Btw, Your mention of sag was another reason I plan on just running a straight piece of tube from front to rear. MUCH...
Well, I am not sure I will have two vehicles in it this year.
My 818 is still a GO.
But I couldn't make the trip to pick up my last deuce that I was going to take.
I sold the deuce I had up here.
And the bobbed truck isn't finished enough to take on that kind of convoy.
Oh, the m1009 needs a new...
I absolutely plan on putting jakes on my truck. But finding them in decent condition is harder then you would think!
Or at least finding them in decent condition when I have enough cash to spend on 'mv extras' can be hard...
The route for this year is a nice drive. Only one real hill, and even though it is fairly long, it is an easy hill. Nothing like all the hills we had on last year's convoy!
Now, if we could just get everyone to go up that hill we went yesterday! That was a fun little side jaunt. Thanks again...
Here is the second vid. This time you can see the rear tires hanging off!
All that, and I think I only barely touched the drop rails that hold the battery box.
In this video, it doesn't do justice to the gravel pile!
Well, and the truck just walks up it like it isn't there.
You will notice though that the tires come off the ground in a few spots.
Oh, and the pile has a drop off on the other side. So when the truck is sitting on the top, the back tries...
Nothing to see here, please move on......
I MISSED the house! Darn it.... ;)
After I mowed the lawn, you can really see the 40'+ DENT in the lawn!
Oh, and I didn't know you could crease concrete! lol.
Just think, for this convoy, there will be some 'official' Zombie vehicles!!!
