The nice part about having it done is that they will make it SQUARE as well as flat. That can effect torque ratings, sealing, etc. Not usually that big of a deal, but that is part of setting them up correctly on the machine to grind them.
If they are good looking, and you are just after a fresh...
As for the truck itself. It is a real solid truck. Nothing major was wrong, just some little things that needed some attention, and I hadn't had time to get to them yet.
We are just glad that the truck will get to be USED. Always a good thing! And taken care of as well, and THAT is a hard combo...
Josh, you should get a seat like I had in my truck. I LOVE those seats, and they make such a NICE difference for riding on longer trips with the memory foam and the webbing setup.
Btw, I put close to 3,000 miles on my 5 ton within the first month of owning it!
Didn't think the old ones were that bad. Unless you got a good deal and scooped them up when you had the chance. Getting the GOOD ones can be difficult at times!
Have 4 extra 'old' ones? I would love to put a set on my trailer to match the truck!
Lengthening the tow bar absolutely helps with this!
I like to run it as short as will work. Shorter = stronger.
But even at full length they are rated for 14,000 lbs.
Actually, the older manual DID suggest using a second driver for the disabled vehicle.
BRACKET TOWING
They later revised it though.
As for tow truck drivers tying the steering wheel.
We only do that if you are pulling the vehicle backwards. That way you have the steering wheels track straight...
Btw guys, the hoses I got at Brads to fit the transfer pump I got last time, they worked perfectly for how I wanted them. And it was a GOOD thing I got all three, I have already used them all!
Btw, that pump can put enough suction on the intake hose to flatten it out if the inlet becomes...
Therein lies the beauty of our marriage!
11 years married, and we are enough in common that having a mini-rally with the MV group was a GREAT way to spend our day.
As for the fast food choice for that day, it isn't about where you go, it's about who you are with.
Actually, the topic was about an 818 with hemmit tires needing an adapter, not about getting the one from a hemmt.
Ok, so to take this right, the adapter for the deuce for running the 11.00 tires would put my speedo close when it has 16.00 tires on the 818?
Haha Aaron, I doubt even THAT...
Thanks Dan and Scott!
Dan, I forgot to get those 'coffins' for more insulation!
I had figured we were staying there a bit longer, so I wasn't too worried about it.
Btw, we rode in the 818 with NO hearing protection! And even though the cab is less then half insulated now, it made the world of a...
