New to Steel Soldiers - Beginners questions - Wiring - And why did they take the front drive shaft out?

Welcome to the site and this model of the hobby. Did you check in the owners manual? Probably blew out 🌪of the glove box with your fuel pump. LOL 74C goes to the STE/ICE connector. 14B is part of the netural starter switch and I am not sure why it's showing up there. ME bad. Time for the...

    Did something dumb...

Understandably (well sort of)) one may want all the convince of a Bimmer with Bling on the Humv. I don't know if these type of add on's are worth the convenience when paired to the Humv. More to factor in not knowing the quality of product, ratings for 24 Volt systems, etc. Going back to...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Adding shims. That's a first for me. I had to take out a bunch to get it right. Hows the bushing ? elongated holes ? bend up arms? ball joints ? frame tweeked ? saggy springs? No two Humv are alike, I guess, CAMO Not all of these BUT a lot pulled at all locations.

    Did something dumb...

Shouldn't go to START if it was running. Something not so "SMART in the BOX" IF it did engage we all know that's a bad condition IE starter pinion, flywheel, starter nose piece., another broken bolt?... UH-HO not sounding good. Anyway............... Here's where a simple clip lead test...

    Generator output

That's Looooow. When setting voltage, RPM at 1500 RPM. Batteries MUST be in good condition. Set to 28.5 Volts +/- .2. Hold for a bit of time till batteries equalize, then readjust to 28.5 +/- .2 Funky junk batteries and settings can be all skew and voltage difficult to set or maintain...

    Wait light/starting issues

Not in any competition or mind control here. Glow Plug Controller GPC ... old school for the first round of "BOXes" It really controlled the operation thur mechnical / thermal sensing switches to the LAU "BOX" Dinosaur Temperature Sending Unit TSU ... Uses electronics to sense temperature...

    Generator output

tomato-tomato or potato-potato Automotive in simple terms, as taught by my High School auto shop teacher, Mr. Mead, 1967. RIP Generator: Has a stationary electromagnetic magnetic field or pole pieces. The part that turns is the armature. The output of the armature connects to the...

    Generator output

Here are my thoughts and free guesses. Fix could be two words above. Note that the 60 amp "ALTERNATORS" charge output flows thru the "BOX" (pcb-esss). Connections in and out of "BOX" or "BOX" could be a problem? AS ALWAYS... Disconnect batteries before removing any connectors at "BOX" or...

    Wait light/starting issues

The "old light bulb in the glow plug" trick. That works too. At this point IMO... Wouldn't waste my time, fooling, wishing, guessing and $$$ with that "BOX" Sometimes called "Smart Boxes" Cuz it smarts to have to buy another set of plugs, LOL Time to kill ??? take it out, open it up, and...

    Temperature Gauge question

It has been said that the turbo 6.5l run a little higher ??? With all the variables... Stuck fans, rust and crud, leaves, bent up fins, poor or little repairs, maintenance.... clearly the cooling system should be on the list. YES, gauges and senders not the most accurate. Got to believe in...

    Wait light/starting issues

OK where were we?? OH YEA, I bought a non runner..........🚛 👎 Note : You do need glow plug action unless the block is warm??? or you got lucky. DO NOT use either to assist unless under direct fire. (come clean here IF...) You're in PA and I am in the Mojave Desert. I need glow plug action...

    Wait light/starting issues

I would like to chime in.... BUT there's a bit stuff going on here. Would be a little helpful if was parked for years or barn find, auction site, last time it ran... Nothing too personal. Glow plugs sure can be a problem. How did you get it started if they were bad. ?? Change and then...
