Title change. My New Clutches ... All Busted, Bent, Rusted
That's a hard lesson to learn $$ Think we all been there with HmuV parts.
Add the QC to the clutch for the time one needs to work some belts on / off.
So did it ever work? I am thinking it was locked up for sometime...
Dose that mean a new a new pump ??? "Wasn't my idea to use the stimulus check that way. Good chance it's seen better days" OLD JOE.
IMO... yep got one, LOL....... For all that trouble, pull the pump and lines and have it rebuilt. Using a reliable rebuilder ?? one could ?? eliminate...
Funny you say that... I always drive looking in the rear view mirror. Learned that 40 years ago with the M38A1, then M37, couple of CUCV's and now pokie HMMWV. Use the windshield going down hill, LOL
Not in hurry in the HumV, CAMO
What I read into this.... IMO, Old company since 1949. Many great products. Good contracts carried over the years. Principal founders passing on ? some technology shift away from canvas / vinyls in the military (armor up) ? failure to adjust to new products, markets, ideas? and the kids...
This sensor is really a simple switch. While it looks to have two wires (yea it does) they are strapped together at the male connector pins in the switch. ( see below). Look real hard down into the throat of said "proportioning valve switch" and you will see them connected together. One lead...
Front ear might be bent or ready to snap.
And don't forget the shim to close the gap shown or alternator ear / s are going to snap off. Now that's a bigger problem. Also brace to engine or exhaust (two different styles) Search threads on this site for more info or TM's.
This may help >...
With all the dirt and mud, a ground rod might work. :funny:
Clean it all up, re-terminate and follow along in the TM. One of those leads is ground # "92_" Markers housing always cruded up too. Got the right idea for the nut plate for the covers.
This might help > Wire 92_ right from...
Another "Cat it the Hat" story. HMMWV that's FAT... clean out that crap.
Not to rag on one's new to you HmwV... knowing it's old and ??? abused. Why wouldn't one not want to go thur the fuel system when first getting one. We ?? check the fluids, check the hub's ?, tighten loose nuts and...
That would make more sense. Still managed via the dash switch and allowing full switched current. (up to switch rating ??) When in normal Stop Light / Drive mode good and in reverse. Dash switch in the black out position... back-ups lights would be disabled. Nice in the combat zone LOL.
I...
Not sure why guy's keep taping into the transmission selector lamp circuit for the back-up lights. There is a dimmer circuit in the switch (resistor Hi-LO-OFF) and it's value and wattage is based on old school incandescent dash lamps loads (couple of bulbs) Now not a big deal that HMMWV...
This could be a good idea, with a lot of work and input. On the surface neat... then I started to overthink it with all the face place and twit stuff "data mining" thing. (not saying anything bad for the effort or participants)
(y)I get it... not like an social security number. Have fun with...
First pic looks like a daily driver. Anything HMMWV is buyer beware. 30 year old truck with only 78 miles... light surface rust, resent paint restoration by GL.
Looks newly build... YEP
NOS door, Check the lower seal... full of crud too, hinge pins rusted, latch spring missing, An easy...
I am not so clear on what your moving. Back and forth... side to side... left to right, round and around ??? etc. Might look around at alternator bolts, brackets... those things that drive off the belt or belts. Engine / transmission mounts. exhaust system. It's a guessing game from here...
That's the million dollar question. :funny: To many variables besides lights and gauges. There's no more $85 dollar jeeps in a crate. The survey is a neat idea, BUT the range is a bit wishful IMO.
Here's my quickie breakdown on my rig over the past six years.
1987 M998 9500
Shipping 2000...
Clutch materiel retainer ring screws.
And if 90 PSI didn't free it... Something is ??? Frees the fan from the pulley. Hub free floats.
Maybe wasn't working, CAMO
Not to be the party pooper... But with all the noise and static on this thread... some governmental "Karen's " behind the counter could be on the lookout.
Party on while it lasts, CAMO
Before one goes changing stuff... check that nasty solenoid coil for resistance and shorts to ground.
68 Ohms in in the middle range and GOOD. Nice to see use of an Ohm meter, rather than poking around and guessing. Good thing the market is flooded with NOS valves.
Quoting.... "I guess the...
Before one goes changing stuff...check that nasty solenoid for proper resistance of 58 to 78 Ohms and shorts to ground both leads. Don't want to blow another TDM.
Not the first time a solenoid takes out a TDM, CAMO
Yes, it was flipped in a control to get it started at speed. (45 MPH) Really not that fast when trying to keep up with today's traffic. When I first saw that video and others wrecked at Yermo... looking over the handful of 1/4x20 bolts holding windshield , B pillar, flimsy doors, etc. and I...
