Sometimes the little things are just so rewarding. Like a license plate holder (got carried away with cutting fluid when tapping the holes for the bracket that holds the plate holder) rear view mirror and a little more light. Going to remake the wire harness for the lights...my first harness...
I bought one and it makes my hummer sexier and jump higher. I think I even look younger now and have lost some weight. The side effects are eye balls falling out, hair loss, hangnail and frequent urination.
Whats the the downside of this kit? Probably little to none. What's the upside...
Grounding harness and clean all ground locations. Lube everything. Fuel filter (that's a fun one). Check / replace all hoses and clamps. Have fun with it!
Aircraft stripper made for fiberglass. It's a gel and works really well and neutralizes with water. There was an enormous amount of paint on the doors. Takes at least 2 rounds of stripping and scraping. Next will be a coat of resin with kitty hair, sand then probably some light bondo work.
Thanks, I love working on these things. It's addicting. Not A daily driver, yet...but once it gets painted she might. Interior is almost complete. Hoping to have my xdoors refurbished in a few weeks. A local custom body shop is going to paint the rig for me. End of July I'm hoping to have it...
I would put cable shield over your wires if you tap into the rear lights or rear marker lights. Either one of the above suggestions will get the job done.
Back up lights installed (bullet LED's) and interior dome light. Both hooked to switch center. Converted to a 4 man from a 2 man top. Tomorrow is light bar installation.
Love the idea. I bought a set from SMR in Wilmington and am currently refurbishing them. I thought about doing exactly what you are doing. The market will dictate how well you do and your price points with options. I considered carbon fiber, insulated (lizard skin or other) etc which I'm sure...
Wirefox, did you install a battery balancer? If so...recommendation? thanks for replying to the question, you know a boatload more about the unit than I do.
A few months back, for giggles, I called pulsetech to see if I could buy the solar panel (or its modern equivalent). That was an...
productive day on the hmmwv front: (2) ammo cans installed for storage and one houses my switch center and battery montitor. Going to put a lock on the passenger side one like the drivers side. Installed the pulsetech distribution system as well. so much to do and not enough vacation days...
I got 14-1/8" x 20-1/16" and 5/16" thick with a slight radius to corners. Pic is odd angle and the edges have clear tape on them...so dimensions aren't perfectly clear. But that's what I measured.
I am in the process of doing the same thing. Started with pressure washer for the really loose stuff. Are you using regular bondo or a resin with glass fibers in it? I was concerned regular bondo would not adhere well and I have some decent size damaged areas...
Got most of the interior paint finished except dog house, reinstalling things now. Swapped out the 2 man soft top for a 4 man, fitting up x doors (which need major work). Finished the spray in lizard skin (sound and ceramic) with a top coat of bed liner. All going well it will be getting...
