From the auction photos I would say you definitely need to look at your geared hub seals. Looks like some moisture there. Nice looking rig though! Probably got the price you did because of the Tampa Bay Bucks sticker:p

With engine running and cold, disconnect the 2 wire connector between time delay module and Cadillac valve. You should hear a noticeable difference and see the fan clutch move (pic 1) about 1/4". It moves in and out as that wire is connected and disconnected. If it doesn't...
What I used, maybe $20 worth of parts. 1/4" NPT but depends on the threads of the gauge you buy. Your gauge should be min 160 psi as it takes a lot of pressure to release the fan clutch. Mine tested at 25 psi engaged and ~130psi disengaged.
There isn't a wire waiting for you but you do have power there to splice into...gear selector light I think is how some do it. Probably better to pull the unit (clean and lube it) and that rubber boot can get roached. It's a 2 man job to get that unit out...4 bolts hold it in but unless you...
In addition to above, check your return lines from hydroboost and Cadillac valve...they may be reversed. I did this and it was an awful noise.

Cooling system day:
right bucket is as drained
middle bucket is after 45min of system cleaner and water
3rd bucket is first flush of water only (10 min run time)
gallon jug is the second flush water only. Then I ran water thru the radiator only with lower hose removed.

i don't think the op was talking about highway speed. It was acceleration compared to other hmmwv's in their family. You are prob very family with the things that may affect acceleration in a hmmwv...why not help the guy out and give him some things to check or maybe teach him something about...
