I found out why there has been such a flurry of Gama Goat activity this year.
How could 1,393,783,836 people be wrong?
Year of the Monkey begins in Feb. 2016, So all of you non-goat herders still have time...
So as to not hi-jack RICKSHAWSAUTO's Cargo Cover thread, I will post the cargo bow info up here.
m38inmaine is getting dimensions on the bows and a trace of the bend between the upright and the horizontal section.
He also mention the bow was made from 1-1/16" steel tubing, with the bottom...
m38inmaine,
if you could, that would be most appreciated.
I looked over my goat thread and could find the measurement request.
It must have been in my expired goat parts wanted post in the classifieds.
I was looking for something like this. And the O.D. of the tubing.
Are the bows aluminum or...
Put me down for one cover,
So what will it be 3 color camo, plain Jane green or tan, real canvas?
I asked a while back if someone could lay a goat bow on a piece of paper and trace the corner bends and the middle bends, and get some length dimensions, so I might fab a set. But no takers...
Look up electrolysis, rust removal on YouTube. Should be able to reclaim most of those PC boards with little effort. Run just long enough to get rid of the rust and not the zinc plated sockets.
That is some great looking hardware. Awe inspiring job.
To bad you don't have a plexiglass engine, it would be nice to see it run. The visible 353 double D.
Tf-9 6099
So does someone know where to find old military training films?
TF-9 6099 from 1978 would be nice to have in better condition.
But be careful if you watch it, as it contains some pretty suggestive sequences. :)
Can you confirm the oil shut off valve works? I have t204n in my notes.
One is 3/4-14 not and the other is 3/4-16 unf fine thread. I would think they would go fine for aluminum. But I don't want to drain my oil just to find out. Thanx.
engine & radiator notes from the Ol' gama goat web site posted up, more to come as I pull them out...

The transmission is a common GM SM-420, 4 speed, except for the remote shift cover.

I haven't got around to changing mine.
Plus I have a couple sets of NOS belts some where.
But I guess, since it is all the rage, that I check out my cooling system too.
I found this in one of my parts cheat sheets from Ol' Gama Goat web site:
Fan belt / Alternator:
NAPA: 25-9670HD...
I hope this can help contribute part info to the M561/M792 Gama Goat Parts thread.
Please post comments about the 'M561/M792 Gama Goat Parts X-Ref thread'
Since there are 5 or 6 projects currently in the process of getting Goats up and running, plus the handful of Goat owners with historic...
A physics instructor told me modern tires do not have carbon/ carbon black in the rubber anymore. So there isn't the path to ground, as before. The bus scrapes off and stores electrons from the air as it moves through the air and the buses metal exterior acts as a big capacitor, storing that...
You could almost thread a bolt into that hole, if it wasn't so close to the bung.
Remember to add a length of hose to the oil drain hole and a remote valve, for easy oil changes, before you complete the final re-install.
