Only one? I share your opinion. We've discussed this at length before. Duals help you not get killed changing a tire on the roadside either.

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

From memory, the pic and thread of that engine are under the scrap yard forum.

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

Yeah, 350 pounds of steel two feet above the cab... I've been told it actually makes the cab move around perceptibly on the frame as you drive down the road, and also that they all will eventually destroy the cab despite having a reinforcement plate, but I have no personal experience with it...

So I just bought a HEMTT....

Dude, that is awesome! I've wanted one for a long time. So what did you actually pay for it? It isn't against the rules to say, but I understand if you just don't want to disclose that info.

How tall are your lift blocks?

Omg... another truck is getting hacked up??? Where will it end???

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Exactly. Installation procedures were slightly modified by adding a retorque to address the issue of head gaskets blowing, even with the newest style gaskets. Just ask Ferroequinologist.

Fuel leak from flame heater pump

:doh::doh::doh: We just went over this. If your truck won't start in the cold without the flame heater, then it has an issue, or issues that need to be addressed for proper operation.

    Air Compressor Leakdown Test

I would plumb in a small air tank with a short piece of line that you know is leaking free. You will also have to plumb in a signal line for the governor. Crank the engine and let it build pressure in the test tank, and see if it bleeds back down through the compressor. If you have no leaks it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Talk to Pctrans, Also, I know Floridianson had some engines for sale a few weeks ago.

Singles are for people that enjoy inconvenience.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Please do check with them. I know I'm going to need one sooner or later, and I would love to replace it with stainless and just forget about it. It is the three way fitting, yes.

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

Right, and these trucks were in service through the 90's and up into 2010 in some units. Those trucks would still need replacement parts, and upgraded versions of those parts ( in the case of the heads). Remember, we still haven't found any literature on that LDS 465-4 that a member posted some...

FWIW, I don't know what you paid for those tires, but it would likely be much more economical to get four more tires, and four more deuce rims ( which can likely be had for free) and dual the rear. A3 rims are high priced, and everyone knows what they are worth. In other words, spend your money...

M185 Brakes TM and best current parts source?

They would almost certainly be Viton. Nitrile rubber tends to swell badly when exposed to brake fluid, at least in my experience.

    75 mph in a Deuce

And before anyone jumps up my butt about safety for going that fast in my truck, please know that I maintain my truck very well, I trust my truck and my abilities to maintain it very much, and my whole braking system is in tip top shape. So are my tires. Yes I understand all the liabilities...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It was probably cross threaded to begin with, and that's where the cracks came from. I think the one on the bottom of my injector pump may be cracked too. It has that " tweaked" look too, and seems to be seeping oil. I just don't know where to get a fitting like it to replace it, much less one...

    75 mph in a Deuce

I bet it would, in neutral coming down from Eisenhower tunnel on I-70, but not on flat land under power. It probably would if I installed some 395s, but I'm not a fan of the big super singles. Works for a lot of people, but I don't care for singles myself.

    m35A2 super single 395 install

If you do that you will put an awkward load on the bearings. You'd probably be fighting hub leaks left and right. The only right way to do it is to run it like you have it, get some A3 rims, or run duals. Even the A3 rims set them pretty far in up under the bed though.

That would look really sweet with duals on the rear. Looks great from the front though!

Fuel injector adjustment - advice wanted...

I'd leave them there. The Italian injectors have been reported to break springs and fail open if adjusted up in the higher ranges once they are used.
