No. Like the stock market right now I am on a "Sell, Sell, Sell" kick. M818 is sold on an ebay auction. Still waiting for full payment and pickup. What you got?
RE: M1008 Painted (and now for sale!)
Very nice. I don't think I will have time to paint the deuce before it gets cold (too late). I will be starting work on replacing the floors in my M1009 and painting it. I think I am going to use real carc instead of the gillespie.
Do not connect to the rear battery unless you connect the negative directly to the same rear battery. The front battery runs all the regular 12 volt stuff. The rear battery along with the front battery supply 24 volts together. The only time the rear battery has a draw is during starting and...
RE: Diff 5 & 10 KW Libby Diesel Generator- Onin 2 &
I would suspect the generator motor itself is different also. You really can't squeeze 10K out of a 5K generator motor just by adding more horsepower. You might be able to put the 10K engine on the 5K generator motor but it would still only...
I think it is easier to find the 73-75 top. The correct top is fiberglass all the way to the windshield. I would guess that the metal from the roof would not mate will with the 76 and later top. I would think it would crack where the roof connects to the top.
The doors on the donor truck would be the easiest but the doors hare just the regular doors with part of the window frame cut off. You would need the caps used to fill the ends on the doors. Also I am pretty sure 75 was the last year for the full top. Make sure you look for a 73-74-75 donor...
Have any of you guys used a stud extractor? It puts a lot more contact area on the stud when removing it. I agree with the heating and penetrating oil but I would try a stud extractor on it first then try the vise grips or pipe wrench. I have had great luck with the stud extractor.
When these trucks were designed everyone was using copper for lines on cars. I don't know what year the auto industry started using steel lines but copper used to be the norm. I had to replace copper lines on my M146 and glad hands on the front. They just put the forks under it and lift what...
And when they need that truck to get them out of an ambush it will break down. I love jumping stuff but not stuff I use to keep me alive. I enjoyed the video but just don't think these soldiers get it. If it was a civilian jumping his own humvee then I would have no problem. At any rate, cool video.
Don,
What you posted would be true for Michigan also. If I did not have the deuce or five ton registered as historical vehicles then I would need to get the same license plate that a commercial truck would need to get and they are based on weight only. I would still not need a CDL or comply...
RE: Re: RE: M105 tire/wheel size
My M146 trailers both came with new spares that had never been used. One still has part of the sticker on it. I have a pile of tires getting ready to swap out the best ones onto the deuce. Even the used ones from the trailers still have the casting ridge in the...
If I remember right a green tag means it is serviceable. A red tag means not serviceable. In other words, unless it is locked up from sitting it should be just fine.
In cases were there are several models of items with the x designation it is where the item (truck) went into production before it was formally certified and adopted. Usually the designation changed to the actual M number within a couple of months. Basically the item has been "accepted" but the...
Commercial motor vehicle means any self-propelled or towed motor vehicle used on a highway in interstate commerce to transport passengers or property when the vehicle—

The above statement is not correct. Use has everything to do with it and if you are not in engaged in commerce you are not Federally required to have a CDL to drive a truck that would require a CDL if you were operating commercially. In several states a vehicle used for you personally moving...
