I got a couple of Yausu VX-170 a few years ago. I like the sealed unit for water resistance. It is said to be submersible but I am not trying it. I also like the fact that the buttons light up. They were pretty cheap and have worked great. They are VHF Highband.
I was just looking more closely at the pic and it looks like some parts may be missing. I don't see the air cleaner tube connected to anything. The turbo may be missing but the air cleaner tube pointing down like it does indicates it is a supposed to have a turbo.
Chris,
The exception in Michigan only applies to vehicles with a historical place and not originally equipped. Anything with a normal type plate needs a light.
He is talking about generally since some people think they both look pretty similar. I would add that the air cleaner on the passenger's side means multifuel or Mack. It also means a M39 series truck. The cleaner on the driver's side means an 800 series and a cummins 250.
Lane,
Do you need it for storage? I have a dirty tan one I don't need anymore. If you are interested let me know. No holes but ugly. I would take $75 for it. I don't have anything to ship it in right now so I would rather work out a hand off.
The first shipper backed out after I had to sit waiting two days for him. The second shipper just called and the truck should be gone this afternoon. I am kind of sad to see her go so I had to fire up the M151 and drive it around the yard. The sale of the M818 will provide funds to restore the...
If you have one or more glow plugs out then it will take longer to get the temp up so it will start. Quick and dirty method is to pull the wires off the glow plugs and attach the clip of a test light to the pos of the front battery. Touch the terminal on the glow plug. If it light then you...
I traded a rusty M105 with racks for a rather unmolested M416. The trailer cord connector had been chopped off with a 4 pin trailer connector attached to it. Pretty easy fix. The bottom has rust depressions but not holes. I traded the trailer plus $200 on my end. I think I took the other guy but...
That seems like a good price on the fender. I paid $250 US for one and was happy at that. They are kind of hard to find and also hard to ship. If you just pick it up you are going to save a lot in shipping. The trailer seems like a good price also but I have not priced them myself.
I was thinking the dodges had a regular 12 volt alt then the radio trucks had a separate 24 volt alt and batteries. I could very well be wrong but that is how I remember it.
Re: RE: M54A1C
The military has much more stockpiled then you would expect. In the early 90's were were shooting 155mm powder bags from WWII and the Korean War. This means they never even got around to shooting the Vietnam era stuff. When in the States we used the oldest stuff first. Fort...
