BBC into CUCV, it is faster now!

LOL! Glad I got your dander up. Yes, my 1009 would do 80+ with the stock diesel. I had my 1009 for 8 years before I did the swap. I am a gear head and I was bored. That's why I swapped it in. If you think that is blasphemous, then you would have really liked the lift kit, the 35"...

BBC into CUCV, it is faster now!

Nice work! I swapped a 500 ci Cadillac Big Block into my 1009. It would light the tires up in the first 2 gears and chirp third. What a hoss. As my Dad always says, it would pass everything but a gas station!! :) I pulled the 500 after the oil pan died and cooked the mains. The 6.2L went...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Thanks Will. It's on there, but you can't see it because of the angle of the picture. I didn't get a chance to turn the engine over any more. Hopefully I'll get some of the wiring straightened out on Wednesday and be able to give it another go around.

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Work Day!! I started off the day by leaving the house at 5 am for a 2 hour drive in the rain to Jay aka Bulldog_Mack's house to drop off my M105A2 trailer. Thanks Jay. From there, it was an hour back up 95 to Winslow's with more rain. I got to John's around 8:30 and guess what, yep, it was...

    XM757 ??? Identify

Got any pics? There were a few experimental 8x8 trucks out there that had commercial cabs so it may be one of those. If so, that would be super cool. :-D

    My "new" M931A1 project truck.

I got a call from Tommy this week. He has received the last of the parts for the truck and will have it finished for me by next week. He got held up a couple of weeks because the left fuel tank was hard to source. There were a couple of guys in FL that had them, but they were holding onto...

    Allison MT654 Tranny Parts Source?

Thankfully, my NAPA store was able to cross reference the Baldwin numer and supply me with the proper kit. It includes a filter, pan gasket, and 2 o-rings for the pick-up tube. NAPA Gold Transmission Filter and Pan Gasket - 1892

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Hi Greg, The A2 rims have larger clamp-ring studs and a redesigned clamp ring along with smaller 1/4" o-rings. The A1 rims use a fatter o-ring that is around 5/16" in diameter. They both use 10 studs to secure the clamp rings. There has been some discussion on this before and a search may...

Thanks a bunch Gimp ,but they are for the 939/A1 trucks with the NHC250 Cummins. I'm sure some of the other guys will take them off of your hands. I'll let you know about the rest of the stuff.

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Gimp, when you get a chance, can you get me pics of the oil cooler and the air filters? I think I will get those from you along with the wipers. I'll look up the rest of the NSN's next week and see if I need the bearings or seals. Thanks! My parts pile is getting huge! Between the parts...

    My new M936A2 project (update)

The parts manual lists the following: 2520012804129 78500 CP85WB62 .PARTS KIT, UNIVERSAL You might try Clark, Memphis, CSI, etc... I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, but if you must have it they could probably supply it. NAPA is always good about crossing parts for me. I'm sure that u-joint...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Another parts hunt update. I found the o-rings for the A2 wheels on the Gempler's website: http://www.gemplers.com/product/OR20JM/One-OR20JM-Highway-O-Ring-rim-dia-20 You can't beat em for $2.90 a piece. I used one when replacing a tire on my 923A2 and it worked great. A2 Rim O-ring - OR20JM

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Oh, duh, sorry. AM General didn't get the contract. A bunch of ex-AMG employees submitted the winning bid for the A2 trucks. They then turned around and sold the contract to BMY, a division of Harsco.
