Pull the GP card out of the holder and inspect it for any burned components or burnt traces. Sounds like it may be damaged or defective.
As stated above, read and use the troubleshooting section of the TM.

Scottladdy.
I agree with your statement. Very nice write up.
The only thing I would change is;
Relay Cycling (off/on) = performed by the glow plug module during the afterglow period to prevent an over voltage condition from occurring and burning out the glow plugs. Trigger voltage on the...
The high idle was not working on Blazer 3. Last week I checked appropriate fuse, it was good. Checked for +12 volts at the temp switch, yep. At this point I noticed that the temperature switch had been changed and the previous owner installed a temperature sensor designed for the glow plugs...
Doghead and I were curious about testing plow plugs with the test light procedure. I have never tried it and we both were curious as to weather or not this is a viable way to test them, so I offered to do a little experiment with the glow plugs that I just removed from my M1009.
I found most...
I bought a new Snap-On diesel compression gauge recently and finally had time to test the compression on Blazer B. This gauge requires the glow plug to be removed and a adapter to be installed to get the compression reading. Easy enough. Tests went well.
While I had the glow plugs out I tested...
The chart is the product of testing a new temperature sensor for the CUCV trucks. We measured the resistance of the actual sensor and plotted it to produce the graph.
Karl
I see what you mean.
My interpretation:
No resistance = Open Circuit.
Zero to very low resistance = Proper circuit or short depending on what you are looking for.
If someone tells me that a resistor has no resistance, I take it as "open".
Karl
Either the sensor is defective or the wiring is defective.
If your sensor has no resistance, that is the same as an open circuit. Thus the wait light will come on in a properly operating GP system.
I would test the sensor and the wiring separately to be sure that both are functioning...
The wait light stays on due to the fact that the GP card is not seeing any resistance from the sensor. When you disconnected the sensor you have created an "open" circuit. Opens are high in resistance.
The GP card is expecting to see a high resistance from a cold sensor and as the sensor...
David, with the quality work that you do, whatever you decide on will look great. Just make sure you supply us with lots of pictures.
I vote for tan with the Brahma interior, looks like it would be a good match.

Welcome from Centre County.
Your best bet is to read, read and then read some more about the Deuce. Just about everything there is to know about it is here. It may take awhile but it's worth the time invested to learn about your future purchase.

I agree with Warthog. Glow plugs draw a lot of current when cold.
Mine was doing the same thing.
Tightened up the alternator belts and the squeal was eliminated.

I have had good success with the AC60G's from NAPA. Installed them in four trucks without issues.
They were reasonably priced and available off the shelf when I needed them.
The connector tab needs to be filed down some on them so that it will mate with the stock GM glow plug wiring connector...
Murdock, you should be commended for your fantastic ability to write with great clarity and proper English.
It sure does make it easier for the others to answer your questions.
I know people 2 and 3 times your age that wouldn't be able to communicate as well as you do.
Keep up the good work...
