I rebuilt mine for $120. Had the exact same problem as yours. The direct clutch pack was toast. Probably because of a lack of fluid do to the plugged vent issue. Some parts are interchangeable with TH400. Taking the trans out and putting back in was the real bear.PM me for any other details.

The tires were trailer tires rated at 2540# each and only a couple of years old. But the one had a bad shifted belt. The trailer is rated at 10,000 gvw and I don't think I had that much weight. They do sell an E rated tire for these at 2850# each.

Without hearing or seeing exactly what is moving, I would assume that it is the axle shifting from side to side from the clearance in the spring pockets....which is normal. The axle needs to have some clearance so that when the it articulates it won't bind up.I don't know if it is explained in...

Yep. Switch the alt belts . So it should be the power steering closest to the engine,then drivers side belt and then pass side belt.
