Correct, I meant the round louvered panel on the bearing end of generator with 4 bolts, loosen and turn.
Should give you better visibility inside the cast end cover.
Maybe see if the bearing seems OK, not sure if you can tell much with the cover on, but look for signs of ground metal dust etc...
Always make sure your Deaf, Dumb and Blind Kid plays a mean Pin-Ball! , not that it will help him guide you back, but maybe he can provide musical entertainment while you struggle with the hitch?? rofl
No, it won't kill the output, but probably isn't a very good idea.
I'm not 100% positive but I thought I read that running without batteries can damage your DC charging circuit.
I would double check before doing it... but, I have a hunch you already did and now have an AC output problem??
If so...
Probably start by inspecting the generator area where it meets the engine's bellhousing.
Check the screen covering the access openings for the internal gen head bolts.
Look inside the openings, you will see an aluminum ring with curved fins. Look for pairs of 1/4" bolts 2" apart attaching that...
Looking good! my only suggestion would be to change everything BEFORE you load test.
No sense testing at full load with old oil and filters ( and risk an unforseen failure ) then changing everything!
Best to test it with fresh fluids and filters!
The 803 tank is much deeper, you actually need an 8 1/2" sender ( 215mm ) so the 200mm is reasonably close, just over 1/2" short, but gets the job done just fine.
It holds just enough to read full on the dipstick! ;)
Actually you are in the ballpark at about 3 - 3 1/2 qts, but I always fill from the larger 2 1/2 gallon jugs so I just keep adding till dipstick is satisfied and never paid much attention to how much it holds, especially since you don't...
Fresh fuel definitely wouldn't hurt, but don't forget to circulate all the old fuel out of the water separator and filter.
If you think it's low compression, try starting it again and watching your oil pressure. See if it pegs the gage up over 80psi.
If so, your oil pressure relief may be stuck...
Yea, I had a M1061 that came with (2) 003 AASK units and the frame from a radio antenna rig ( I think )
Towed it home from Long Island NY with a friend's dually and no brakes.... ( took the ferry across to CT. ) was a whole lot of fun without brakes!
Awesome trailer IF you have a big truck to...
Yup, m103 or M105 would be my suggestion too, only thing to be aware of is that the minimum lunette height is about 22-24", possibly even higher, depends on the current position of the lunette, and the landing gear is limited to how low it goes, so be prepared if you bring a pickup to recover...
In addition, if they have been sitting for 10+ years with fuel in them, be very careful not to trash your injection pump. If the IP is gummed up and you crank the motor over you will damage an Ambac M-50 pump and you will turn a Bosch PSU pump into scrap metal.
There is a procedure to check and...
I've done what you are saying but not for operation, purely for shipping 2 machines on 1 trailer to Puerto Rico.
service would be impossible and yes, tongue weight was very heavy.
They fit way better on the bigger trailer LITD is talking about.
I have one here that came with 2 802's on it with...
Wow, looks like you have a LOT of water in it!
Just pull the heads off, nothing much as far as tips, its straight forward.
Pull valve covers, remove rocker arms and pushrods, remove head bolts including the rocker arm studs.
Don't forget the glow plug wires and oil lines under the intake.
Also...
FYI be warned that the newer white body white Beede gages and the older Blue body gages ( not sure who made those ) are wired differently.
Or I should say the terminals are on opposite sides of the gage.
All you need to do is pay attention to the markings on the back of the gage.
The I terminal...
Anytime! Glad it worked.
Looks like some of yours may have met the same demise as I did once.
I was working on an 802 outdoors and didn't latch the control panel closed.
We had a wind/rain storm that night, the wind blew the control panel open, rain got into those blue body gages ( because of...
I also use regular 51R batteries, usually Napa Legend's but I have several customers who have experimented with the small 280-300 CCA ish' garden tractor batteries with decent success ( if anyone is on a tight budget )
You can get them as cheap as $39 sometimes.
They have the flat terminals with...
I've done it a few times before. The bezel is an aluminum ring crimped around the edge to secure it to the white plastic body.
From the back side, take a very small screwdriver and get between the edge of the bezel and the white plastic body of the gage.
Twist the screwdriver to bend the crimped...
There is a little bit of info in the -24P , but mostly just parts schematic.
Looks like a pretty simple cam and plunger type pump.
If there is an official name or PN for that pump I bet YouTube has something....
I would be willing to bet Guy knows what that pump is called.
