The resistor will only drop the voltage when it sees a load and it must see the exact right load to get the voltage right. I don't know why but it seemed like the -20 did not cover this at all when I was checking my system. I think the trouble shooting is in Chapter 2. Look for the electrical...
After looking around I found at least one post that agrees with me. I would estimate the original cost in the $15000 range with the rest of the $30000 being what was spent on fixing, rebuilding, and maintaining the vehicle for 35-40 years.
Don't confuse the price shown on the GL and the paperwork with the trucks. This is not what the government originally paid for them. This is what they have spent on the truck over the span of its time in the military. This is how they decide what trucks to get rid of. When the money spent on the...
I am pretty sure you will see 24 volt until there is a load then it will drop to around 12 volts. If I am correct you need to check it under a load to be sure. This is why the glow plugs all go bad at the same time. When one glow plug goes the current draw drops and the plugs that are left see...
I pulled it apart today and the connection at the front where the copper meets the bulkhead connector is actually a compression fitting. I broke down and got all the items to flare it. As I remember, copper only needs a single flare while steel line needs a double flare to prevent cracking. Can...
After thinking about it I am just going to flare the connection and splice in a new section of copper. I would do steel but I think the run is too long for my local store's stock. I really only need the flare coupling and four female flare nuts in addition to the copper line. If the copper is...
Thanks. Looks like splicing copper may be the cheapest option at this point. I really only need to replace about five feet on both sides, ten feet total. I appreciate the link. I always am looking for good online parts sources.
Anyone have a civy part number for the front shocks on M800 series five ton? If it is a military only item does anyone know who has them? I have only checked with Saturn at this point.

My M146 trailers both have the copper air lines for the service and emergency connections ripped out. This was done by the front end loader used to move them around the GL lot. My first question is can I spice in a good piece of copper with compression fittings or do I need to splice it with...
Ty is really bugging me to buy some spring seats from you Ted. The ride up to get the trailers had his butt sore. If I can free some money up I till get with you.

Thanks for posting the pics Paul. I was glad to have the help. You really saved me a lot of time by not having to make two trips. One of these days I need to help you out. Right now it seems like a one way street.

I need the two sockets the hood hold downs sit in on the hood. I am not talking about the ones on the top of the hood for the windshield. I am talking about the ones at the front of the hood. Anyone have two I could really use them.
Thanks
Chuck
Great news. I found out that Sept 13 is not a U of M home game. I will most likely be able to attend Silver Lake this year. There is even a slim chance that I will not have to work the games this year. There is even a game on opening day of deer season. I hope I don't have to work them.
I am pretty sure the side panels are moved out to make room for the wider radiator support. I am not sure if it is angled back or if how it connects at the rear. Hopefully oilcan can give some pics.
