Just got word that my EUC forms have already been approved! Gonna go pick up later this week or beginning of next on our way to/from King of the Hammers.
Sure thing. I'll keep you guys posted. Have pretty much finished designing the enclosure. Only trying to decide how much I want to extend it. Definitely going to add two feet onto the rear, but am thinking about moving the axle back two feet and adding another two feet to the front of the box...
Oh thanks but those are two different trailers. The first two pics are of the M101A3 I just bought, and the last one is a screen capture of the enclosure that I'm designing/building for my M103A3.
Cool! Just bought an M101A3 with an enclosure to use as a moto-hauler / mini-camper to tow behind our smaller trucks. Also have an M105A3 that I'm building a bigger enclosure for and that's going to serve as a mobile workshop / toy hauler that I'm going to drag around behind my M109.
It's called the LDS (vs the LDT) and it's more like a 25-40% increase, depending on how it was configured. Lot of info about them on here if you want to learn more. Just put one in my M109.
Fail to see how the intended application is relevant if the gear ratio is right, and the parts are well-made.
Did I miss the details on this transmission? Just put an LDS in my M109 and used the 2.5-ton bellhousing and transmission, but have the 5-ton multi bellhousing that came with the LDS...
Good to know. Was wondering about how the top was sitting on there. Didn't know if maybe there was something wonky, but am relieved to hear that it's just not bolted down. Filling out EUC forms and hoping they process quickly so I can pick these up when I go down the the King of the Hammers race.
...and this is the other M101A3 that I'm going to swap the shelter onto. Works out great because my buddy is only going to use the trailer chassis to put a utility bed on top of, so he didn't really care too much about the condition of the cargo bed.
Mine's the one on the left. Looked like the top is in a little better shape than the one on the right and it was the cheaper of the two. Hard to judge from pics though...
awesome. thanks for posting. that's all REALLY helpful info. looks like there are doors inside to complete the enclosure too. hope they're still there when I go pick it up.
Thanks, I watched the auctions for a long time before finally snagging this one. Actually bought two (only one had an enclosure). Going to swap this enclosure over onto the other M101A3 trailer and then give this trailer to a friend of mine to tow behind his M1009.
Just purchased an M101A3 with an enclosure and am wonder how tall it is inside. Looked at the TM and was able to find the length (96") and width (65"), but didn't see anything about the enclosures. Can anyone tell me how tall it is inside? Thanks.
Not planning on removing the air compressor. In fact, will be adding a larger air compressor and additional air tanks. But not for the brakes. The HydroMax system is already installed (mostly).
No steering system is going to lock on-center, or anywhere else. Except maybe full-lock, and then...
Installed some custom-built wheels on my M103A3 trailer and they've got quite a bit less backspacing than the stock wheels, so the wheels/tires stick out further. As I'm designing an enclosure for this trailer (turning it into a mobile workshop), I'm thinking about how much space I could gain by...
