Buy what you want, but don’t try to turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.
It is like you bought a 1969 Chevy Chevelle and you are looking to turn it into a Pontiac GTO because both are GM products using the same frame.
Mogman, thanks. Granger and industrial truck equipement is a great idea! Jeep wiper parts are also great idea that I also am exploring. A custom mount might be required. Maybe I will use plywood just to tease springer. He seems to be beating up on me lately. 😉
Compressors will require a power...
Hunvee. Mogman is correct and I understand. Thanks Mogman.
Here in the USA my 24Volt HMMWV windshield motor is very expensive. It is easier and more cost effective to sell it and purchase a readily available 12Volt replacement. The 24 Volt HMMWV unit is worth at least $200 US. A 12 Volt...
Rewinding a motor takes hours by hand and is a very precise activity. I don’t have the patience nor the technical expertise. Easier to sell the 24 Volt units for a lot of $ and then purchase the cheaper 12 Volt units. Another method is using a power inverter circuit.
Guys, springer is a nice guy but springer is dead wrong about the escort steering column and I’ve stopped giving a damn. I don’t need to fight over this. It’s not worth creating conflict and bad feelings.
86humv, I created my schematics with CamO’s help over a year ago AND I posted them here in...
Others have done it so I’m trying not to reinvent the wheel here.
If necessary I will use a Jeep tj motor.
I hate 24 Volt. Using my custom system to swap to 12 Volt on several trucks including my own.
Using my custom PCB. Similar to CamO unit BUT allows more options. (Make no mistake, I love...
Engine computer, transmission computer, custom coding for engine computer, acceleration and brake pedals wired into the system, custom wiring harness, custom motor and tranny mounts, body lift kit, custom exhaust with air sensors, intake with air sensors. Custom oil and transmission dipstick...
RWH is the man.
FYI...
On my H1 which is currently supercharged, I sent out the unit for a re-core with a 4 core dimpled core. Soon I will be swapping in a P400 turbocharged unit with the same radiator.
I added a few bells and whistles but they might be less necessary... One thing I'm adding...
It’s CamO. He makes a terrific system.
I make these too. Just I don’t advertise.
I also have begun making systems that allow conversion of the entire truck to 12Volt
Well my brother, as one of the only members here with both H1 Hummer and HMMWV, I'm pretty qualified to state that I am correct. You can also go to the hummer network forums if you don't believe me.
H1's have them and all H1's need FORD lock cylinders/keys.
Ford column is also collapsible...
