RE: Unit & photo
We were already on the ground by the time it came to painting the V. We used a two inch paint brush and a can of white paint. Not pretty but when the A-10 s are cruising around they really can't see the brush markes. We also painted them white because our trucks were never...
The 800 series are use sprags. They are always sensing for more than an 8% difference between front and back speed. I would not mix tires with a different circumference. Check circumference not diameter. The circumference is what you want close or the same.
I am all set to be there Saturday. I have directions to the Main Gate but where do I go from there? We do go to the main gate, right? Any veterans please let me know something. Will the gate guards know where I need to go?
Thanks
Chuck
Just a note. You will measure 24 volts at the input of the relay until the glow plugs cause a current draw. The load will then show 12 volts or so but the load of the multimeter is not enough to drop the 24 volts down to 12 volts. This is why things burn out quick when one glow plug goes. When I...
Mike,
I am trying to decide whether to get a hotel or bring a tent to camp. Do you have any spots left? I would only be there Thursday night and Friday morning. I have to be back home for Saturday. If no spots are available then I know I need to reserve a room.
Thanks
Chuck
It is much easier to sleep in the front of a 900 series. I usually slept on the hood while on the move in Iraq in the 1st gulf war. I pretty much just got out of the driver's seat and moved straight to the cowl and collapsed.
I am think it is a go. Right now I would need to go down on Thursday and leave Friday to be home Friday night or Early Saturday. My son needs to be back. I was trying to work out something for your trailer but I really need to take my small trailer. It would not haul your trailer. I can should...
RE: Wiper Arms and Blades for newer style motors
One of the Anco 13 inch wipers comes with a sleeve that goes on the narrow blade to make it the correct width. I can't remember the number but you just have to look at the adapters. My local auto parts store had the right 13 inch blades in stock...
Pull starting with a strap is only a couple of hundred feet or so. Five miles is something else. Don't do it. Get the truck running if you have to but don't pull it with a strap. You asked for opinions and it seems you got some. Take the advise, please.
Must be good weather for Bjorn. The difference between him and me is he still makes time to take pics and make posts. I always work all the way through and then say to my self "I should have taken some pics." Keep up the good work. It really looks like you have kicked it into high gear.
My 818 has a class II leak from the front main seal and the accessory drive seal on the front cover of the engine. Can these be changed with the cover left on the engine and the engine in the truck? Anyone done this job before on the front? Input please.
Thanks
Chuck
