Sure if you want to pay the cost , raise the plate fees up to a annual renewal and personalizes plate fees that's fine . But to expect the rest of the state to pay so a very very small portion of michigan residents will benefit , so you can have a "cool plate" . I would say 99% of the taxpayers...
I bet they won't sell more than a 1000 historic MV plates. And rhe MV plates are not fund raising plates ,but cost the same to develop. That money was brought in by extra fees on top of the regular registration fees . The $30 lifetime fee this bill proposes will never come close to covering the...
With sue happy America now days it is a necessity for any business to either form a LLC or incorporate.
I'll happily pay a few dollars more to a locally owned business over a national corporation.
I also don't see a need to create a new MV plate , with the law to not display a plate already there . It cost about $180,000 to create a specialty plate in michigan , the state will never recover the costs to create the plate with the few that will be sold , let alone any money from plates...

Edit ; Also trying to bring the first amendment up goes against the rant in post #105
Quote from that post ** The Constitution has...
Like I said I will send it to the transportation committee and let them add what is needed or squash it, it's pretty clear chuck don't care about outside of detroit . I actually missed a opportunity to meet with Senator Horn yesterday .
Show me where I posted read the rules in the later part of this thread ( one of the many you have started that got merged) And if you read the rules it is within them to link the TM and section they information is in without spoon feeding someone who won't open a TM.
The amendments are only good for historic plates , and there is nothing stopping the SOS to require a FMVSS for all other plates whether older than 25 years or not . You poking the beehive at the SOS is going to end up doing the same thing that happened in Virginia .Chuck has no clue on anything...
Well actually I carry a print out of some key things , like torque specs and some other things. I also have read all the TM's for my truck and 40+ years of working on heavy trucks and equipment I've learn a few things . But I have full service manuals for all my equipment , with the exception of...
So what your plan when your out in the middle of no where with no phone service or instant answers on SS ?
Or a major internet outage , I can see it now dead MV's everywhere until the internet is back up.
