That is affirmative zout,I will be there either early thurs morning(4AM) or around 1PM,depending on my departure time and whether or not I wanna risk a ticket with the lowboy.
I will be bringing these 2 with me....
They're heavy no doubt, but I did just as Bruce described, once, then I went and got the wrecker to set em back on the trailer next time.
If i'm by myself,I just run a long chain from the trailer neck, and use a come along to winch em up into place.
Well folks, thought I would post a few pics of today's exploits,
I took the 915 and the lowboy to Summerville SC toady and moved a 955K Cat track loader back to Valdese NC.
Nothing really exciting,no failures to report,58 mph going down and 58 mph coming back,502 miles and roughly 90 to 100...
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After several nights working on the M62(late nights)and some part swapping it is back to operational again,I have the M211 replacment trans on the workbench and inner works pulled for cleaning and installiation into the other 211.
Oddball is now on...
Congratulations on your 915 purchase!!
Definetly check your state laws before driving.
BTW,your fluid capacities are as follows,
11 gallons for the engine
5 gallons or so for the transmission
engine filter#s are
oil-LF670 and LF777( Fleetguard full flow and bypass)
fuel- I use FS 1000...
Well folks,it looks as if I'll just be making an appearance on Friday just for the day to deliver/collect parts,
I was working on the M211 this evening moving a transmission from one truck to another, when the short driveline from the t'case PTO to the power divider let goin the...
Well Russ,I gotta ask, what gear was the selector lever in when you stopped?
The reason I ask is the GMCs with the hydramatic have a rear pump in the trans so it can be push or pull started,If it was in F1 high you may be OK engine wise,if it was in any other gear and the trans was in decent...
Welcome from a former member of the 10 ton club mil125,glad you're here!!
I don't know if you remember, but we met at Aberdeen this year,I was driving the 915A1 on the back row towing the M109 trailer owned by neil hendrix here.
Just my 2 cents here,I had the front crankshaft seal give out on the 816 when I still had it,made the same mess as I see in the pics.
But I agree, more than likely the accessory drive in this case.
Well,I was going to tow a M447 or M313 trailer to use as my "motel",but my choice for the 915 was based entierly on driver comfort(as far as MVs go) and parts availability.
2730.1 miles just to get there for me,that's 4 days,3 hrs and 53 minutes driving 8AM to 6PM every day.
that's roughly 550 gallons of fuel in the 915A1 or $1650,1 way only.
total trip numbers would be 8506 miles round trip,1702 gallons of diesel fuel,or roughly $6000 for fuel alone, based on a...
Should work,I have used the 3/4 pins and feet to flat tow a M135 with a M35,but as always, use crossed saftey chains of at least 1/2 inch diameter rated for the load of the towed vehicle.
Hey WM,what is your intended route south to the rally site,we will be hitting the Hartwell GA aera at about 1100 or so EST,we may be meeting Jimma and adding to our little convoy there,be glad to have you fall in with us.
We won't be in any major hurry,MDSA will have his N/A deuce towing his...
Unfortunately Mike the only way to tell if both governer weights are free is pull the trans side cover(on the drivers side) then pull the control valve and check them manually.
I would try the external adjustment first, sounds like the throttle rod may be a little too short, Do a search for...
