Swapping an LDS in my M109, and right now I'm working on getting the transmission and bellhousing. Put about 4,000 miles on mah deuce and never had any transmission-related problems, but noticed that there's a significant amount of play in the input shaft. Maybe close to 1/8" at the tip! Is that...
Oh, but after removing all the bolts around the perimeter, the pressure-plate didn't come loose. Thought those other bolts might be securing it to the flywheel? So figured I had better ask about the correct way to remove it.
Need to swap the 2.5-ton bellhousing and everything over onto the new LDS engine, and am wondering how I'm supposed to remove the 5-ton pressure-plate. Removed all the bolts around the perimeter and then noticed the three bolts further in towards the center. One of them has a tag (had been...
Going to pull the transmission and bellhousing off of the old engine right now. Got a new clutch for the swap, but am wondering if I can use any of the new 5-ton parts (flywheel, pressure-plate, etc.). Nevermind. Was obvious as soon as I pulled the transmission off the old engine.
The clutch...
Did a little bit more research this morning and looks like the stock master cylinder is only 1 3/4", so am tempted to try the 1 3/4" Hydro-Max 1 master cylinder with the Hydro-Max 2 booster. Tim is putting together some parts/prices for me, and am hoping I might be able to start working on the...
Thanks guys, but this is nothing new. Not an original idea is what I mean.
The way it's designed right now, the bottom skidplate is 3/4" and has 1 1/2" diameter holes in it, which is a little bit larger than the socket I have, but I need to take a measurement of an impact socket to figure out...
Started designing some skidplates today. First priority was to replace the stock u-bolts on the front axle with something a little most streamlined. Probably going to have a few extra sets made if anybody wants a pair, but don't have any idea how much they might end up costing yet.
Almost finished with the winch mounts. Just have to mirror this assembly and then tweak the geometry a bit (because the winch is offset to the driver's-side).
Thanks, glad to hear you're happy with them. Like I said in the first post, if anybody buys a pair of hubsteps and then wins the giveaway, I'll give them a refund.
That's a good question. Evidently, the master cylinders are marked with the bore size in millimeters. Not sure about any other part numbers or identifying marks though.
Whatever works. That's perfect. Only thing I didn't see is the width of the slot, and am assuming it's the same as my brackets (somewhere between .515 and .525"). Another discrepancy seems to be with respect to where the slot is located (front-to-back), relative to the center of the back...
