Yes, on HEMTT rims. On 5ton combat rims they rub. HEMTT rims are really the only viable option with the 16.00's. This adds weight and cost.
That said, 16.00's are still my first choice unless bottom end acceleration is an issue.
There's three choices for sizes.
14.00s are the super single that the military used on the 5tons. They measure out at 48" or so tall.
16.00's are what were used on HEMTTs. They require a different offset wheel to avoid rubbing up front, and can still hit the bed if you really try. They rob...
It's possible to lock the steering on the 989a1s. Doesn't really help.
Presumably if you wanted to back straight up, and were perfectly aligned truck to trailer before locking the steering, and were perfectly aligned trailer to target before locking the steering, then locking the steering...

An M989A1 just can't be backed, especially around corners. It's not my inability or inexperience. It just can't be done.
I say this, and I've had a class A CDL. I can parallel park a tractor trailer. I can (and have recently) backed a gooseneck around 3 sides of a square when a narrow motel...
How much stuff do you plan on running at once?
10kW is generally plenty/overkill for a largish house. For 18,000BTU AC and some lights I doubt very seriously you'll need that much.
Count up the amps of the largest combination of things you plan to ever have on all at the same time....

Varies. Most of the time you won't get a second glance.
But occasionally you'll get stopped and ticketed. Yesterday I paid a $158 ticket generated by towing an unplated M989A1 trailer with a plated M925. In rural southeast KS.
It was a calculated risk. I got caught. I paid the fine. No big...
I disposed of this one this weekend. I hope to never see another one.
A word of caution - it is possible to turn tight enough for a M989A1 to contact the bed of an M925. Ask me how I know......
This directly conflicts with my experience.
Here's what I experienced with operating the rear PTO on my M936A2 -
Transmission in neutral.
T-case in neutral.
Engage the rear PTO.
Transmission in 1-5. (Remains at idle).
Immediatley adjust throttle for 1500+ rpms.
Pinion brakes are good for very low speeds.
Think about how fast the pinion spins in comparison to the wheels, and what that does for friction and heat...
Don't trust GPS to get you there using the address in the first post.

My assessment in this particular case is that it's random chance. One container is $4k at opening bid, and another identical one is $5. Same with gensets.
