Still in thought mode. Check out the Denton want/trade thread and check out the W400 pics. Looking at the fender flares on those or maybe something like Toyota FJ40 rear flares should cover the slight protrusion of the cab/chassis axle under the M1010. Yes, I'm considering duals on my...
Greetings folks! I am trying to find a thread where someone posted that they have a CUCV ambulance and it had a cab and chassis dually rear axle. I have been searching the site and google for some time now and I can't find it. I thought I saved the pic but sure can't find it now. Anyone...
I've done enough damage. I was able to obtain an Advance Adapters plate for mine so they did all the micrometer and machine work for me. I don't think adapters are a back yard shop type item to fab up.
I use very few air tools anymore, even at the shop. Cordless tech has advanced so much. MY M18 fuel half inch impact is capable of the job. Same tool is available with a 3/4" anvil. I've suffered through running air tools off a deuce before. Air pig and all the related hoses take up space I...
Allow me to muddy the water just a little bit more. You need to decide on what trans you have or want. The Dodge gas version has the same input spline and diameter and the chevy version but is slightly longer. This makes is possible to use a plate adapter and the factory GM bellhousing used for...
21-72510 is a Navy number but not for a deuce. If it were a deuce is should start with 95. Then again, it sounds like a very old truck. How about sharing the poor pics?
For what it's worth I've done 3 chassis cab conversions and on each one, I took the Detroit NoSpin out of the original rear and installed it in the c/c axle.
Chassis cab axle is also rated at 10,000#. Tube diameter on the C/C axle is 3.5". I'm no detractor of the 70HD, it is brutally strong but I appreciate and prefer the design of the 14B with it's 3rd pinion bearing and much cheaper cost of a locker. Were I to build a regular dually pickup, I...
Ah, in front of a computer now so let me shed a little extra light on the subject. There are several ways to go about this but here are some details you might consider. Firstly, the Dana 70HD. This axle was used on all of the dually pickups from 73-86 and the 87-91 R/V series trucks. When...
I've done a few now including the one in my avatar. How are your fabricating skills? The short answer is, yes you can use both axles but it's not as easy as it sounds. Do you plan on keeping the existing bed? There are 2 different width dually rears. Post up your plans and I'll try to detail...
