That is a slave port. A military connector would bolt in there and have 2 cables going to ground and power. This is where the vehicle would be jump started.
If you look on ebay for military slave cables and ports, you'll see what they look like.
I think he's talking about the piece that plugs into that-
I'd also like to know if that end exists anywhere. I've only seen it on brake light switches and fuel pumps, where it's made on to the item, not just part of a harness.
1. Buy what you want (winch, dropside, etc.).
2. Buy the best truck you can afford and if you can't afford it, wait.
3. Read every thread in the deuce forum before asking questions. By reading the TM's, you're ahead of 90% of folks.
I would have expected a one of a kind piece like that to go for a lot more, but since there are so few of them, there's no way to judge their value.
Also, it doesn't have the "WWII pedigree" that a 353DUKW has.
I love, love, love the military 2.5 ton trucks, all the way from the CCKW to the M44 series. A lot. Best truck evah.
However, I also accept their limitations and what they're good for and not good for.
They're slow as heck. Slow to get to speed, slow cruising speed.
They're stiff and bouncy...
I've probably done a dozen of these and I used off the shelf Milton fittings. The -P tech manual should have a description of the item, it may show the thread pitch. I can't remember if they were course or fine.
Come down next weekend and I'll see if I have an extra laying around rofl
If you're talking about the valve under the glove box on the passenger side, you just need a female thread NPT female air fitting. I can't remember if it's 1/4" or 3/8" but I think it's 1/4".
